Do the professional thing then and release statements instead of letting everyone guess what is going on.
It’s a shitshow of mediocrity.
Professional my ass.

We’re in massive trouble. How can we possible survive with this business model. These kids were the future of Rovers! The same way it does every season. Every club whittles down their youth squad each end of season.

disappointed to say the least, hello division two! Firstly - they’ve let everyone go who was out of contract bar Martin who has had an extension, and offered renewals to 2 or 3 players whom most of us would have offered an extension to. Whoever is left, is left because they’re under contract. Doesn’t mean they’ll stay. If they say they’ve transfer listed them the club has basically revealed it wants shot of the players so its bargaining position is gone. Its better to not reveal your hand than to come out letting everyone know you haven’t any cards to play with. Finally - how can you be sure at this point we’re going to get relegated? We could bring in championship level players from here and end up getting promoted. Who knows. Could easily go the other way but the point is anything could happen here on in. The most positive I’ve seen this place going into a new season was the Garner summer and last summer. The first was a ginormous flop that makes this season seem fantastic and this season was a relative disappointment. We won’t know come the end of the summer window where we are and we certainly today don’t know what this window will bring.

I’ll believe it when they’re sat in it.
They’ll lose interest after a few difficult seasons in league one.

List pretty much as expected, sad to see Harvey released, a bit surprised we’ve offered Scott a new deal, hope we’ve offered enough to keep Jordan. Would like to see us get Liam Sercombe back who has been impressive in an awful Cheltenham team 👍🏾 He lives in Bristol apparently Swear I’ve seen him about Mangotsfield. Still rate him but think he may be a bit old for us if we’re young down the young and hungry route.

I wouldn’t pay much attention to the in contract section. Just being there doesn’t mean that they’ll be here end of the summer.

I paid £15 and got the Retained List nicely printed on to A4 paper (Ariel 14 font) and it came via courier this afternoon. The rest of you should get your electronic versions in the next few months. There were no big surprises in the list. Gorringe might tell us if we DM him? Really friendly bloke sent me the plans for the east stand

Employee gets new job shocker. It is a shocker when the manager clearly didn’t know about this on Saturday in his interview after the game at Wigan. If he hadn’t given his notice in then how the hell is he supposed to know? Is he supposed to use a crystal ball? They’re not going to say “oh ok work your weeks/months/however long notice” right at the end of the season when hell be finding players not for the club but holding them back for his new club. They’ll let him go straight away.

Monotone has been telling everybody and anybody who would listen that all the players are frail and its not his fault that during the past six months he has been unable to get a squeak of a tune out of them; finally after taking another walloping at the hands of the high flying Wigan last Saturday, he sticks his head out of his shell claiming by the order of the peaky Gasheads the retained list would be published today, ffs he cannot even deliver list of names on a scrappy piece of paper. I think this says more about the off the field management of the club who struggle to send a mass email to supporters or release a timely statement than the manager themself. Communication has been shocking for years.

I don’t think people have issue with the premise, it’s how the club has gone about it. I dont think Michael O’Leary would be as cloak and daggered about this. Not sure about that, adding the cost after the event is totally crap, but plenty on here and on SM are saying that it causes issues if they forget their phone, leave it in the car, drop it down the toilet or just don't want to use it, and then say 'what am I supposed to do'? So you agree that it’s crap to add the fee after the event, ergo you agree with my point that the problem is how the club has gone about it?

That's fine, I believe it's been mentioned that plastic cards can be purchased if you choose not to use the standard method of entry! In my case it's a matter of losing things - I'm far less likely to misplace my phone, a plastic card, that's a different matter. Funny though that one of the constant themes on here is about the club not modernising and moving with the times, yet when they do... I don’t think people have issue with the premise, it’s how the club has gone about it. I dont think Michael O’Leary would be as cloak and daggered about this.

Today should be the day.
Probably won’t in the end. But should be.
Hope it lands and who needs to go goes and we can get on with rebuilding.

I find that extremely condescending, have some empathy. Laughing at others expense is not a nice trait. we are all different, have different needs and go about life differently, as I said before people without Smart Phones for whatever reason (and there are many) maybe in a minority but should be catered for. We must see beyond our own perspective in life. Who said I was laughing. Donate £15 and I will make sure it buys a season card for someone in need. I have already identified the group that I would like to concentrate on first and interestingly, that group hasn't been mentioned yet. I want to fund season cards for our disabled supporters. So chuck some cash in. Stop moaning on a forum and put your money where your mouth is. Why should we have to pay (mostly - again) for the impact on others of a cold decision by the club? This doesn’t affect most on here as we’re mostly going to be tech friendly. Shouldn’t stop us looking out for those who it will adversely impact.

There can be no arguing with the business decision as it makes complete sense. Phone apps are the future-much easier and cheaper to administer. The cards have to be printed by specialist security bonded printers and they do charge a lot of money for their services. Those people who say that charging £15 is too much for such a card have no idea as to how much they actually cost. Where i do think that the club has got it wrong is that it is their choice to change an existing system and so they should provide people who are renewing existing season tickets with new cards free of charge . It should be explained that this is a one off and that lost / stolen cards will be charged at £15 and new season ticket holders will have to pay the £15.00. It is also worth pointing out that if you renew , year in year out then the card will last you for a few years and the £15 fee spread over say 3 seasons works out at £5 per year or 25p per game. I don’t disagree that it’s more expensive than you would think. However, there’s a cost of doing business with anything like this and the club needs to cater for those who don’t have or struggle to use smartphones. Part of the problem is the club seemingly cocks up season tickets each season having to reissue the cards. It’s amazing that it can’t seem to keep the same cards each season. This adds to the cost that would otherwise as you suggest bring it down by using the same card year in year out. Once the card is produced it should be equivalent to maintaining a digital ticket from an admin perspective. Ultimately the problem here is not digital tickets though it’s selling them without making this clear to the people who need them that there will be a charge for them to actually get the ticket beyond the £3.50 admin fee (which I assume is ticket masters cut) they have already paid out for.

It’s the way that the club has gone about it that gets on my wick.
If it was announced upfront then all I’d personally be saying is that it’s a bit steep for what it is and harsh on those who aren’t as tech friendly as I or others on here may be.
Call it £10, then I don’t think many would be causing a fuss at all and most would just consider it a reflection of the times.
The club has a tendency to shoot itself in the foot massively and do it repeatedly.
If I have been a drone on certain matters on here - this is why.

I've got no problem with this route. If you don't want to use a digital ticket, you pay for one......simple. It’s fair enough if that’s disclosed up front but this was not clear during the renewal window.
