Massive half time for Garner. Has he finally learned how to give a team talk and coax a second half performance that’s better than the first? Sunderland know they are in a game now and might go through the gears in the second half Anything more positive ? we're 1 up !

Leahy and Little? I wasn’t confident before the game, I have to say I’m feeling even less now. Still let’s see how we fair, but I get the feeling a 3/4-0 spanking could be on the cards. Hope I’m wrong! Experience as far as Leahy's concerned, no idea what BG see's in Little over Hare, however, he is recovering from a serious injury and Little can be a d aecent RB when he wants to be. This is clearly BG's first choice 11nd if we play poorly again today and get stuffed then you do have to really wonder if BG is up the task. I agree, let's shock the footballing world and sack him straight after the game.

Bit late to the party. But here goes. Born in a house in Hartcliffe, then Lawrence Weston till 18, Leicester, Nottingham, 12 years in Gdansk, Poland, and now a stones throw away from The Mem since 2006

Bristol born & bred once upon a time, now residing in a hamlet just outside Tetbury. It has been argued FGR are now my ‘local’ professional side, which never fails to irritate me. A Hamlet? A posh word for village

Seems to me we will lose 3 maybe 4 nil but if this happens i hope the usual meltdown about BG being sacked dose not happen He is here for the long haul to develop the young players we have and hes brought in. Mid Table would be fine this season as long as supporters see an improvement over the 44 games. Next season if no improvement then i guess he needs to go Great post - but shocked at the predicted score. Tough game yes but Sunderland are no invincibles (I think ![::)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/eyesroll.png) )

C'mon Gas get stuck into them and knock it around - plenty of dynamism in the front 3.

Can someone show the formation? At a guess ![](https://img.techpowerup.org/200912/safqralu-jpg-small.jpg) Thanks for this Axe, but you're going to have Harries on the left (left-footer) and Kilgour on the right(right-footer). I like this side it has good balance. A little surprised only that Hanlan is in straightaway - I thought and hoped Ayunga would start.

Personally I expect us to lose - this is arguably (on paper) the hardest game of the entire season on match day 1! Sunderland - and away! So it's a big ask. I'd be over the moon with a point. As such, my real hope is that we aren't smashed by 3 or 4 (or more goals) and that we give a really good account of ourselves - maybe losing by 1 and playing well or even losing by 2 if we play some really good stuff. I think that would give me some hope that against a more mediocre team we'd have a decent shot of coming away with the points. Hate to sound so negative, but think Sunderland are a different level to us at present. Yeah, you're right we were a different level to them in March

Did anyone actually see anything in Tutonda on Tuesday to suggest he's any better than Leahy at present, for what is likely to be a tough away game?
Upfront I'd start with Ayunga, as I assume Hanlon has had a tough week if he's travelled up from London yesterday, undertone a medical etc and now needs to travel to Sunderland today? (Actually looking forward to the game now!) I thought he looked alright. I don't particularly rate Leahy, especially defensively. I wouldn't be too critical of starting Leahy over Tutonda as he does have more experience. I would be disappointed if Tutonda can't dislodge him though as some point and I expect BG to start Leahy. I am a little bit, It's the hope that kills you as they say. I expect to feel disappointed after about 60 minutes though. If we play well, I'll be the first one on here to praise the team. You are a magnificent Gashead !

So I should stop because you said I should? Hang in a minute he apologised, that apology is half hearted. He said sorry but I didn’t know how to spell his name. That’s not an apology. I will leave it now because I want to. I’m not trying to start an argument with anyone, I’m not over sensitive and I’m not making an issue. I’m a mid 30s white bloke, I was offended by what was wrote so made my opinion known. Welcome Brandon to our club, give 100% and you will do just fine. Good luck UTG!! Jesus wept. Welcome to GasChat, you will fit in well here! 😂 Marshy, do you want to become a Moderator ?

Well it’s a new season in a league we are not happy to be in, but for the first time it looks like we have done good business over summer.. The problem is I don’t know what the team will be there is real competition for places with players in all area of the pitch having had a good pre season. At the back we have lost one keeper, but In Burge we have a good substitute, not better but good enough, the back three are bigger and stronger than last year, I know he has come from City, but Bailey Wright will be a big asset , Willis will be along side him the question is who will be the third at the back, my guess is it will be the Kosovan international We have just signed ( I won’t even attempt to spell his name!), he looks big strong two footed with the ability to play out from the back. . With what looks like a much more stable back three the wing backs should have a lot more freedom to get forward. In midfield it is difficult to know who will play other than Power who has just been named team captain, so you would expect him to start the question is who will play along side home in the middle it will be a choice from four, Dobson, who Parkinson seems to favour, Scowen, who scored one and had three assists in mid week, aLeadbitter who seems a different t player now he has sorted his off field health issue and then there is the young Dan Neil, Up front , I think it will be Will Grigg with two from McGuire, Gooch and O’Brian. That will leave Danny Gram and Wyke on the bench for extra fire power if needed. All n all I think we are stronger and better organised than last season. But talk is is cheap before a ball has been kicked. well I'd be amazed if you don't make top 6 but the team you list there doesn't make me say wow ! Are there a lot of older players you listed there ? We also think we have real competition for places, especially after adding a striker today. Our issue I reckon is whether we'll score enough to challenge but I'm excited about the 9 players we've signed. I'm going for 1 - 1 on Saturday.

Welcome to The Gas, Brandon. Let's hope he's fit and raring to go for Saturday. has played in all 5 pre-season games for Gills, so should be able to start but that could be a bit of a gamble as only Ehmer knows how he plays.

Not who I was hoping for but obviously hope he proves to be a massive success. Worries me a bit how few Gills fans are sorry to see him go. They rate Ehmer but most don't seem fussed that Hanlan has chose to leave. His finishing is clearly a weakness he'll need to improve if he's going to score the 15+ goals we'll need from our No.9. Lets hope like JCH his career takes off at Rovers. In fairness, Coventry didn’t seem too fussed about letting JCH go. Not excited by this signing but I have egg on my face from JCH so who knows. you've almost written something positive there.

Good signing here. I remember him as a fast, hardworking player against us. He's not going to finish like JCH but he's got goals in our league and has played regularly for the last 2 seasons. And we need a battle-hardened player ready to go. Personally, would love to see us play 2 up front, so Hanlan with Ayunga or Daly (whoever's showing form).
