Whichever team is selected players have to warrant a start and no way has Kilgour done anything when he has played to suggest he should be "given" a game tonight. He has been terrible this season. Couple of changes at the most tonight and those really being down to what Ben sees in training as regards those -players he feels are not up to9 two games in four days.Because we don't look like a free scoring team Shrewsbury will; like Burton; provide tough opposition but are definitely opponents that we should be aiming to beat so not too many changes. Agree Steve. Ricketts' sides are exactly that. I expect it to be tight at the beginning/first half. I hope BG can release the shackles as the game goes on - I think we have the better attacking players.

Would guess;Keeper,Leahy and Bunny Hare just Jaakkola - Leahy, Little and Upson played but all are unlikely to start ! Amazing that in 11 months only 3 players might be in the 18 -man squad from the last time. oh forgot Kilgour played too but another unlikely to start

Like them both - they are skilful, real triers and not afraid to shoot - what more do we want ?

Wonder if Ben Liddle will feature on the bench? May have dreamt we signed him from Middlesbrough. Not been mentioned since. Last time out we played really well there winning 4-3 with goals from;Ollie,Millwall Tone,Sercs and Ogogo all of whom have left.In a previous encounter there,Will Puddy had a 'Mare. Yes, and without looking it up - how many of our likely 11 today played in that game in Nov 2019 ?

Many have mentioned Hare's performance today and some of the excellent crosses he puts in. It so far appears though that whilst Hanlan has many good attributes to his game being on the end of crosses may not actually be one of them (?) Hanlan so far looks far more menacing holding the ball up , running onto through balls, creating chances for himself running into the box. So maybe Hanlan is better to make diversion runs drawing players out of position creating more space when the cross comes in for someone running in from deep ?? McCormick perhaps ? Anyway was just a ponder out loud your basing this on what ? one header where the ball was dropping ? or all the games he's played ? I see a player who came into us when the season had already started who's really hit the ground running. Fitted into the system from the off, has looked been a top performer in every game, has 2 goals and has come close on a handful of occasions. I'd say a great start.

A terrible record like only 4 wins in 24 games would see anybody sacked... who ? BG ? Who else do you want to sack ? Wael ? the players who played in those games ? the mascot ? A new season is under way - stop moaning and get behind the team. 2 wins, 2 draws and 2 defeats - mid table !

It's hard not to feel a bit of sympathy seeing him fronting up and bullshitting his way through the interview, all the while looking like he's got someone holding a blunt, rusty knife against his bollocks. However, we should never forget the timing, or the two-faced devious way he treated us. Karma can be a bitch. You mean when Wael told him there was no money for the January window? or do you mean he took us to the highest spot we have been in for 20 years. YEAH and the highest spot counts because it was December and the league is over then, in it Lp ?

I never liked his football style at our club, never believed he would take us anywhere. But I have to say, some of the comments on here are unnecessary and unbecoming. He is just a bloke after all. Karma can be a bitch. ..... but he did a BRILLIANT job keeping us in League 1 after DC left - so we should be grateful for that.

Think some of the comments about Hanlan are harsh. He caused their backline problems more and more as the game went on. He's getting into good positions. Came close to scoring with his left (a whisker away) before our 1st goal. With the so-called easy header - for me it wasn't because the ball dropped to about waist height when it got to him - do you use your head or foot ? Him and Daly are a good combination - they need to see more of the ball - hopefully Otzumer, Westbrook and Nicholson can give better service in the weeks to come.

Exciting indeed and we now look like a team that can play football and not just pump aimless long balls forward! Looking at our options from the subs bench I cant remember a bench to be as strong as this even with the few promotion teams we've had over the years? We now have players who can come on and change games and give our opponents a headache. But playing devils advocate what if we never reach the heights of 4th? What if the best Garner ball can do is the worst of Coughlan ball? An interesting yet unpalatable truth, potentially. yawn yawn yawn

Upson is crap... Poor decision making by BG ... we were controlling the game and he takes off youth and energy and brings on side ways Ed. Two points dropped against a very poor side.. That said this is a game in the last few seasons we would have lost ... unbeaten now in Three. We weren't controlling the game once we took the lead - McCormick was never in the game so I can see why he went off - just think subs could/should've been earlier.

Nicholson very unlucky with his header there. Hopefully, some lessons learned by BG about how we play when a goal up and also might consider making substitutions earlier in games.

Jaakkola 6.5 excellent save from Harries slice.
Ehmer 7 very solid Baldwin 7 very solid Harries 5 very poor with his long passes, ok defending
Hare 6.5 great crossing, not so good with general passing Grant 6.5 lost his way 2nd half Westbrooke 6.5 faded McCormick 5 wasn't in the game Tutonda 6 steady, didn't take anyone on ??
Daly 6.5 took goal really well Hanlan 7.5 played very well, unlucky not to score.
Subs: Upson 5.5 Nicholson 6.5 great header - very unlucky Oztumer -
Ref 7 but did he miss a pen for handball for Rovers ? Burton 7 strong between the goals, but perhaps lucky to get draw.
BG should have shaken things up well before Burton equaliser because we couldn't get and keep the ball in Burton's half. Does BG ask his team to drop too much when we take the lead ? We need more tempo to our play in the 1st half.

No striker on the bench which concerns me but once Ayunga is back we look good to go. Must be the strongest bench we’ve had for years? No Leahy on the bench, wonder why ?

Very pleased BG has selected the same XI, would have been a kick in the teeth to leave anyone out from Lincoln away. UTG! yep, Otzumer on bench. O'Toole and the dangerous Akins for Burton.

Exciting signing - talented left footers are like gold dust ! Anyone got some clips of him to put up ? Does anyone think he looks like a youthful Stan Laurel ?
