At least spell his name right Ted. Should be more worried about your dwindling league form, or we’ll be seeing you next season. The original poster is definitely not a ted.

That would be me. I'd want him gone before a ball was kicked and wouldn't be back at the Mem until he was gone. Hopefully there's a Lord Justice who will ensure that happens I don’t think LJG has that kind of power.. I'll bang him up soon as look at him, chap. Don't you worry about that. However, his trial is only in the Crown Court so I'll leave it to a Circuit Judge or a Recorder or one of the High Court lot. No need for a Justice or Lord Justice at this stage, but I'll get the black cap out for a hanging if he appeals ...

Like I said - it's my opinion that those comments are barely concealed criticism of the club. If you were responding to an interview about why you had failed to properly carry out your job by saying "I'm not a magician" I think you might be a bit more concerned about your boss finding out. Fair enough. You must be right. Trouble with me is that I was born with no imagination. Whether I must or must not be right I'm entitled to my opinion.

What words have I put in his mouth? Does he not say "I'm not a magician" at least three if not four times? Does he not say "I can't pull a rabbit out of a hat"? Does he not say that relying on Daly is not fair on him? Does he not say that he doesn't have the strikers for right now? What part have I made up? How about "I wouldn't expect to publicly slate my employer". All you quote above are true, but, how do you make that into "publicly slate"? I'm not a magician, I do hope my boss doesn't find out that I said that. Like I said - it's my opinion that those comments are barely concealed criticism of the club. I view the constant repeating of "I'm not a magician, I can't pull rabbit out of a hat" and other pointed references about "not fair" on Daly to be relied upon and not having the strikers for the here and now to be clearly directed at the club. They're not exactly heavily veiled. Not to you, obviously. I'm not a Tisdale admirer, but you have blatantly put words in his mouth. What words have I put in his mouth? Who is PW? You've clearly got such strength feeling towards the bloke you don't even know his name. Saying that nothing wrong was his fault is obviously revisionist and obviously wrong. Bizarre substitutions in the 90th minute chasing the game. Bringing on 6 defenders chasing the game. Bizarre team selection and tactics. Above all that, as I've said elsewhere, I don't think I'd have much respect for the club if they hadn't said cheerio after he spoke about the club as he did on radio last night. I wouldn't expect to public slate my employer and keep my job why should he? And why are you not "disgusted and ashamed" by that? Just played Tisdale's interview again after reading this, LJG. At no point did he mention his employer. He didn't directly mention the club; only bemoaned the lack of an experienced striker. I didn't particularly want Tisdale to be our manager in the first place, and I'm only concerned about his going because it shows what a shambolic club Rovers have become. 12 weeks of a two and a half year contract(!), following the disastrous appointment of Ben Garner - also short-lived. Other managers will be fighting over the chance to join us! I view the constant repeating of "I'm not a magician, I can't pull rabbit out of a hat" and other pointed references about "not fair" on Daly to be relied upon and not having the strikers for the here and now to be clearly directed at the club. I am totally and utterly appalled at the club for the dismissal of PW. In all my years of supporting Rovers, today is the first time I have ever felt completely ashamed and embarrassed to be associated with the GAS. To sack a manager after such a short amount of time, and given current circumstances is quite frankly disgraceful. It was not his fault he inherited a team of Garner’s no-hopers. It was not his fault the squad was struck down with COVID exactly as he had got us playing some of the most exciting football I’ve seen us play for years. It was not his fault the current schedule has taken its toll with injuries. It was not his fault he’s got strikers who are simply not good enough. A Ferguson, Klopp, Guardiola partnership would not be able to sort that lot in 12 weeks. The board and fans who called for this should hang their heads in shame. Zero integrity. Disgusting and shambolic. A very, very sad day. Who is PW? You've clearly got such strength feeling towards the bloke you don't even know his name. Did anybody else have alarm bells ringing after reading the feedback on his Rovers appointment from Exeter and MK Dons fans? A lot of what they complained about seemed to come to fruition (arrogance, weird selections/formations). I thought he'd have gotten tremendous support from Exeter in particular, but they didn't seem keen on him at all. Completely. He was getting plaudits from some on here about the EFL podcast he did but the way he talked about Exeter with such disrespect rang serious alarm bells with me.

But GC didn't fail though did he? Depends on how you look at things - according to some he didn’t play nice football and crowds were falling. He had us up to 4th, I don’t think that he would have got support from the board to push on in his way, so he walked, you could say that he failed to take the team in the direction he wanted, that was working as far as results were going. Cant say I blame him really. I suppose it must depend on how you look at things because I don't think you can say he failed at all.

Ridiculous timing. Was a real chance saturday to build on a couple of encouraging (if impotent up front) displays. Swindon's resurgence starts Saturday now, not ours. Hmmm if 0-0 and a 2-0 loss can be considered "encouraging displays" then Tisdale really was a magician after all.

No great surprise it would take more than a magician to get this weak squad , to play in a manner that resembles a team. Starnes & Widdrington have made a mess of this club. This is the 4th Manager to fail, under their regime. Wael, you don’t have the experience to run a football club - you need to surround yourself with experience, their mistakes are costing you money, get rid of them now!! But GC didn't fail though did he?

The Board fund the squad the Manager wants. Can't see our League position has anything to do with the Board. Not really, the board funded BG's squad and then gave it to PT, and now somebody else. In any case they appoint the managers. They also, I'm sure, have a big say in the players we bring in, especially with TW now on the board. You've contradicted yourself there slightly. Garner wasn't f**ked off at the first sign of trouble. As you say - he was backed with his own squad in the summer after a sh**-show last season. Tisdale came in saying he didn't believe in "not my players" and he'd taken the job on knowing what he was getting but then changed his tune to "the club" this, "the organisation" that when it became clear he'd lost the dressing room. In any event, it's not uncommon, in fact it's the norm, that senior employees publicly criticising the organisation they work for will not be there much longer.

Feel sorry for Tisdale actually, came across really well. I hope the Team look at each other and realise it was their crap performances that have cost him his job. Next. It's funny how different people's opinions can be. He came across to me as extremely arrogant and unlikeable.

I think you and I have gone round and round about this general point so won't repeat at length my rebuttals but: 1. It's massively overstating the point to call Cotterill a winner - one promotion out of this league to his name - big whoop. 2. New training ground and money spent on players including JCH. I don't think the problem is as endemic as you make it sound. Two bad appointments I don't think can be said to be deep rooted disease at the heart of the club. I don’t complain about the financing side of it, for me there is an issue in that the debts should never have got that big but Wael has converted them to equity and I respect that and that he is the bank roller. He hasn’t particularly surrounded himself with the best people though. I sort of agree and disagree on the disease comment. Yes it is two appointments so could be seen as hyperbolic in the extreme- but the detail is that we have been absolutely useless on the pitch under both managers. 8 wins in 43 is a league season where you simply have not been up to the standards of the league. A league 2 side playing in league 1. Any ambitious club would be holding an inquest to that sort of failure and when you look at us and see that part of our actions during this time was to award promotions and hire a manager with no application process or time taken to learn from previous mistakes that screams from the rooftop that this club has no clue. Would that sort of decision making have you reaching for your life savings to invest? You’d think it was a basket case and rightly so. Cotterill has a promotion from this level and brought Cheltenham out of non-league didn’t he? Started well at another basket case club and he’s been in hospital part of that time with Covid! He’s light years ahead of the likes of Tisdale. Tisdale took Bath Uni's team into Conference South - same level as Bath City. So I don't regard his achievements in non-league as any worse than Cotterill to be honest. My opinion is they would have been basically like for like appointments. Two blokes completely full of themselves who've done nothing very spectacular at this level of football.
