Nah, I'm not missing the point. OP says he's a dickhead. I don't believe in swiping at a good servant of the club for doing his job as a newspaper columnist. His job ? His hoby, making unfounded claims at the club a-long with saying as he wants city in the prem. Lost a lot of respect from me ! You don't think he gets paid to write the column?

He gets paid to have a view, it's his job. It's an honest living and not harming anyone. Your missing the point. The original poster was talking about his legendary status. Taking massive swipes at the club like he has in the last two "paid too" articles damages that status. Both pieces have been very badly worded and could have nuanced much much better to say the same thing. Nah, I'm not missing the point. OP says he's a dickhead. I don't believe in swiping at a good servant of the club for doing his job as a newspaper columnist.

More fool me for standing by the guy who put Devon through on goal against City, who took us into a play-off spot as player-manager, who is a lifelong gashead? Don't think so. I'm not a fan of tearing down legends just because they happen to be human beings. This forum loves to tear strips off people who were good servants of the club. I think the point is Holloway needs to learn when to Shut up! Sometimes it's better to say nothing and keep your views quite. He gets paid to have a view, it's his job. It's an honest living and not harming anyone.

I remember having conflicting emotions at the time, on the one hand excited that it seemed we had some financial security and that any doubt about stadium funding had disappeared, i had little faith in the then board and it seemed we would be put on a more 'professional' footing. On the other hand i had seen what this kind of 'ownership' had done to other clubs and was a little concerned that we would lose our identity, and sell our sole to the devil! There was a lot of media hype and worrying expectation( generated by the fans i might add, not by Wael) and some were upset when it became clear that the new regime were not going to have an open cheque book to chase the rainbow. I like every one else was devastated when UWE collapsed but soon realised it was the right decision for the club and the project did not benefit the club enough to justify the investment. I did not like 'The Dwayne Sports' structure and was delighted , if i understand rightly' that Wael now has full control. My concerns have evaporated as I think we now have an owner who is a Gas ed like the rest of us, and is not just here to play with a new toy, I think Wael is a fantastic owner and long may he continue to work towards what all Rovers Fans long for, but please hurry up Wael as I'm knocking on a bit and i want that season ticket in the new stadium ! Up the Rovers! Not meaning to be a grammar snob but it’s DWANE. On another note have you seen AJIB figures ? Makes you wonder how Wael can finance us, does me in anycase. Cheers. If we want to read gasheads.org conspiracy theories we can go on gasheads.org to pick them up there. Had a peek the other day. It's like therapy session over there. Paranoid delusions doesn't even begin to cover it.

Fair play to him I say, nothing says ‘stamping authority’ than threatening to knock a player out cold. Should refs be allowed to throw punches? I know that's a joke, but I think it's worth saying that refs generally (and I mean all the way down the pyramid) are protected from the players by their position above this sort of thing. If it is even slightly ok for the ref to engage in the sort of posturing and intimidation that is common enough on the pitch, then suddenly it becomes ok to square back up to them, or to try to intimidate them. They obviously have a different set of tools for dealing with this. Particularly if you consider that had the player lost his rag and shoved the ref for example that's potentially a lifetime ban. Certainly risking a season ban.

How can Swindon be notified first when the ref is at our ground? Our staff must have been there when he carried out the inspection - unless he made the call whilst his car was revving up! Very strange. Hopefully they will appoint a different ref for the re-arranged fixture and keep this one well-away from our games for the rest of the season. Seems like he messed up - hopefully he will be relegated to Div 2 for a few weeks. It genuinely looks like something dodgy happened. It really does seem like he'd made the decision prior to attending the ground (possibly why he was able to tell Swindon first) forgetting that there are things like covers and heaters which would make the pitch playable. Having done that he scarpered.

Not sure about that. Why would anyone claim to be Gas if they didn't have to ? Plenty more fashionable and attractive options open to cast a coat over.
Was on a train from Bedford to Bletchley recently when two MK Dons fans started discussing Tisdale and one pointed out that he (PT) was Gas. Total coincidence?
Not a coincidence, no. They probably heard or read him saying it when he joined us, which is sort of my point. I think he considered there to be value to him claiming a link to the club to strengthen his application as manager and I think that worked for him to a degree. Repeating the claim now makes him seem like a hapless victim who only ever wanted the best for his beloved Rovers. It seemed fake to me in the beginning and it seems fake to me now. Like I said when has he ever mentioned it before? Not in the two and a bit hour long EFL podcast he did talking about his life in football. Not on his website talking about his footballing history. When has he been spotted watching games? I've never heard it mentioned. And there's generally chatter about that sort of thing. Graner, Coppell, Christian Edwards for example.

I don't like their club one bit, but why do you say "they" as if all of them have the same opinion? Some are dickheads, some aren't. Some talk total BS, some don't. Same with Gasheads and any other fanbase. Banter between the two sets of fans is great, but I wouldn't want any of them to tar us on here with the same brush. Let's not do it with them as well. I am referring to the Sh1!heads who post on One Turd. If you bother to look they have a multiple thousand post thread dedicated solely to Rovers. Not one opinion on there is favourable to us. My comments are therefore confined to Sh1!heads on OneTurd. OK with you? Your problem appears to be reading their forum. A bit like leaving the house looking for dogsh1t to walk through then complaining the streets are covered in dogsh1t.

We just beat a play-off side 3-1. Why the urgency to get Barton in at all let alone before Saturday? Because widdrington has made it abundantly clear he doesn’t want the job , why wait ,utg Because the last two appointments we made were rushed and were clearly ultimately wrong for the club?

Goodness me, this guy seriously has some sort of self-aggrandisement complex.
"I know I could have really made a difference in their careers".
What the hell? By your own admission, Paul they are at the start of their careers. What are you talking about? You don't know what their careers hold for them, they could end up in the premiership and playing for England. What a bizarre comment.
As for that "boyhood club" rubbish, I always felt like we were being grifted from the very start when he brought up that "10 years old" academy stuff. I'm even more convinced of it now he's started saying this ... when has he ever mentioned anything about Rovers ever in his entire career before this?

Get Barton in before Saturday. I am sure he would have watched last nights game and seen the best of the players that played. Some will say keep it as it is but then if we lose saturday will be saying we should have brought a Manager in!.He wouldn't have been my initial choice but looking at the list he is the most exciting of the candidates on there. Lets appoint Barton and get behind him and the club. We just beat a play-off side 3-1. Why the urgency to get Barton in at all let alone before Saturday?

I would t speak too soon. Ayunga 2 finishes absolute quality fair play to him. Hanlan however worst performance in a gas shirt. Appalling. Been saying Hanlan is absolutely rubbish for months. Runs hard but has no end product, and can't hold the ball up like Ayunga. Given his poor finishing record this season I struggle to see what he offers. Err ... isn't he currently top scorer at the club?

I see you have not commented on how the teams you considered to be relegation fodder are doing. Hi Bideford. I can't remember about MK Dons but I remember you calling Plymouth like a premier team which they clearly aren't! Don't get too upset Bideford. We're all gas. Bully boy does his bullying. Standard.

Curly just got the sack from the cobblers what would we want him for, that would be like getting a loan striker from Dagenhams bench Never forget getting Guy Branston on loan from the only club below us in the whole football league at the time! Scored with his first touch though!
