We released our only scout, Clarke confirmed he is recieving offers from agents for their players. Ither then that its salisbury players or players who played well against salisbury your last sentence is total assumption right? Someone who played over 400 professional games at three major clubs between 1995 and 2013 must have many contacts within the game. Hopefully he'll also have some sympathy from those contacts given the job he's ended up with...

Got a cracking name that lad. "Archibald" Leitch is historically probably the greatest designer of football stadiums that ever lived. ![](http://forum.rangersmedia.co.uk/public/style_emoticons/default/hail.gif) Had vaguely heard the name before but just started reading about his work and kept on going for half an hour. Thanks for reminding me!

I'd seriously like someone to ask them 'Where do babies come from' so we can see i) whether they can think on their feet and ii) whether they can give a factual answer...

Haha noone saw that coming. Wow. Netherlands could win this you know. I would bet that for the next 6-8 years they become the next Spain....getting close but never quiet getting there...I might be proved wrong, but tonight I don't think they beat a great team...not even sure they beat a good team....however, they have probably won an easier route through the knockout stages...

We are relying solely on agents which is a bad bad move and shows we have not learnt our lessons. I can't believe it's as bad as that. Yes, it seems we have a rubbish scouting network but surely we have contacts within the game and surely we've learnt our lesson after several of the failed signings over the last few years...

Don't think anyone is taking maximum points for predicting the Spain v Netherlands scoreline...

As I just posted on another forum, as a manager DC has had two pre-seasons to prepare his team (salisbury) both of which were successful (10th and then 2nd - promoted via playoffs)...if this pre-season goes badly (and it's too early to judge yet) it's not because DC hasn't done it successfully before...

I must admit that it looks increasingly like there is some upheavel going on in the boardroom and that that's delaying us sanctioning moves for players. Hardly ideal and, at the moment, it certainly doesn't look like we'll be "hitting the ground running".
When does pre-season start? Only I know DC said he wanted his squad in place by then.
June 30th... .and it's so quiet it's deafening...

What is actually the point of the vanishing spray? Best thing ever unless you actually care about the distance of the wall from the ball... ...in summary, the wall at a free-kick should be 10 yards from the ball. So (somehow) the referee works out where 10 yards from the ball is...now, in the past (once he'd done this) the players in the wall generally shuffled forward before the kick was taken, thus hampering the attacking players. Now whilst he's busy spraying a line on the pitch (which may or may not be 10 yards from the ball) the attacking team will be busy moving the ball back a few yards anyway so that it's easier to get it up over the wall and then down onto the target... *edit* my bad, apparently he circles the ball too....imagine if they gave a can to the assistant referees as well, they could play noughts and crosses whilst we wait for Rovers to take throw-ins....

So Jamie White turned down £700 to join Rovers, I thought we'd stopped offering big contracts? LOL Sadly, the Conference is sounding like a joke of a league compared even to Div 2. Sadly the standard of football (certainly in the top 10-14 teams) is quite good, the competition is run with an iron-fist (unlike the Football League) and money talks - meaning if five teams can spend a lot more than you then you'll need a lot of luck to finish ahead of them... Oh, and completely off topic, but I'd love a Friday match away at Dartford Finnish Gas...so I could spend the late evening at one of my favourite nightclub nights in the country, SOAP Dartford!

Not happy. That was never a penalty and I should have got the right scoreline. Grrr. Nah...if they hadn't...er...'won' that penalty Croatia would have got a result I think...then no-one would have got any points!

I've got Iran to win Dave so nil points there for me as well. Just you in fact, I was reading the wrong column....in my defence, it was late ![;)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/wink.png) Now don't worry, I'm not going to update this daily, but since it's the first game... @hugotheelder, Russgas, inee, glostergas and lincsblue all start off with 4 points for a correct 3-1 scoreline, whilst everyone else picks up a single point for the correct result.

So I've done the spreadsheet and just glancing through it it has some interesting stats: Everyone thinks Brazil will beat Croatia in the opening game tomorrow... No one thinks that the Netherlands can beat Spain (about half have gone for a Spain win, the other half a draw)... No one thinks Costa Rica will beat Uruguay (but @mcchisel, Russgas, inee and seanclevedongas have gone for a draw which may or may not help England)... ...and speaking of England, we have 4 predictions of a win, 7 draws and 8 defeats... A couple of brave souls are picking Honduras to beat France (step forward inee and Finnish Gas, whilst seanclevedongas has gone for a draw...) No one has gone for anything other than an Argentina win, whilst only gregsy can see Iran notching up only their second ever win at the finals against Nigeria (bonus points for anyone who can remember their only win without looking it up...) No one has predicted Portugal to take all three points from Germany, whilst most people are expecting Belgium to start quickly against Algeria... I for one can't wait for it all to kick off!
