Glad he's gone. Never liked him after his cowardly elbow on Gaffers when he played against us. Was disappointed when we signed him in the first place.

I always felt we should've played him up front. His goal scoring was far better than his defending.

Don't think DC was best pleased when he put details of his injury on social media..

Really didn't see that one coming but I'm hoping it means we have signed better ..... Seriously would like to see a few announced soon though. Expecting four or five loanees so still another three or so expected as our owned players.... Two strikers I'm guessing as a must !!

In fairness to Hartley he had clowns for company in goal, he also only played the first half of the season which included the team acclimatising to league one.
If DC has others lined up and knows Hartley will be well down the pecking order then fair enough + DC sees and knows and has a far better record than any of us!

Begs the question why he signed him in the first place? He's been an odd ball signing, dominant in the opposition box but fairly useless in his own box, even Plymuff got promoted the season after he left, I'm surprised another Div 1 is prepared to sign him.

I'd be happy to let him go. If we get a fee for him even better. His time with us hasn't been terrible but I feel we can do better.

Fee for him from Blackpool, more like were paying up part of his contract to move him on.

I guess we signed him because we had not scored any goals throughout defence, other than Browner, and we rarely score from either corners or headers - he did both! I am not fussed whether he stays or goes but he did score some goals and so DC was eight in signing him.

Or maybe we are offering him plus cash in order to purchase Cullen or Vassell or Potts? might tempt them - they are not cash rich and an experienced defender plus some money to spend could work to their advantage.

I quite liked Hartley.
Seemed to want to do well but distribution was poor.
Makes sense that a CB is leaving. As we're told DC wants to add another and we already have:
- Locks - Burn - Clarke - Partington
Would have thought that Hartley is a top wage earner amongst them so hopefully gives us some wiggle room.

If Blackpool want to sign him and PH wants to leave, then we're doing them both a favour by releasing him when he's still under contract. If we let him go to them on a free then we've got rid of a player off the wage books that DC maybe doesn't really want, Blackpool get an under contract player for nothing, and Hartley could possibly get the same wages, a nice little signing on fee and the promise of more game time. Everybody wins!!

if correct that would suggest to me Sweeney is on his way back Big conclusion to draw imo Normally I would agree with you, but on this occasion it makes perfect logic to me in my little bubble I can't see any benefit to either Clarke-Salter or us if he came back which I very much doubt The lad from Weston Super Mare I would have thought was work in progress Partington is imo too light weight to be a stand alone CH,esp alongside Locks DC sang Sweeney's praises in his last interview and clearly Sweeney has set the bar The unknown quantity to most of us is whether Burns is another Sweeney type ? So I can't imagine IF it is correct about Hartley DC would let him go without a better replacement in mind, as DC said there aren't many 19 year olds like Sweeney out there, anything less will produce a mini meltdown

For me we should get players in before we let them go. We released a fair few..and not guarantee that likes of lumnley and Sweeney would return. Our squad is getting smaller. Pre season starts in a couple week. If that happened with every team nobody would go anywhere.
