www.blackpoolfc.co.uk/news/2017/june/hartley-becomes-a-seasider/Peter Hartley has joined Blackpool from Bristol Rovers to become Gary Bowyer’s second summer signing. An agreement has been made to see the 29-year-old switch the Memorial Stadium for Bloomfield Road, penning a two-year-deal with the option of a further 12 months. The defender joins on the back of a successful half season in League One last time out, where he scored six times in 25 appearances, before injury cut short his campaign. Hartley, who hails from Hartlepool, previously made close to 200 appearances for his hometown club, before joining Stevenage. The defender twice finished in the League Two Play-Offs with Plymouth Argyle, where he played alongside Pool’s Kelvin Mellor and Jamille Matt. On the move, he said: “When Blackpool arose as one of my options it was a no-brainer. I watched the Play-Off games and the Manager has been at a top level. “I’m here to play football and to be able to do it at League One level again is something I’m looking forward to.”

Just had a baby and wanted to play up North. Sums it up. Or maybe a two year deal with an option of another year......

Dont shoot me for saying this but i reckon darrell told him he was unlikely to be a 1st choice player next season and that he could leave if he found himself a club. I thought he was an honest player who really struggled defensively last season although in fairness to him the keepers we had and lockyer and clarke-salter also struggled before hartleys injury.

Probably more to do with that we would probably only offer him a year at best, and Blackpool have offered 2 with the option of another.

Have to say I was slightly surprised when the rumours came out that harts would be leaving. Either the club are about to show a real statement of intent or DC thinks Burn can do a job at this level.
Either way, thank you Harts for the goals, especially the one at the bridge!

Scored some good goals, gave his best for the club. I wish him well.

Solid pro and the best goalscoring CB we've had since the **** brilliant one, but not a top 6 L1 player defensively.
Two and a half months of the window left to bring in a better replacement - should be fine.
All the best to him.

He didn't want to stay from the sound of it. Fair enough that he's making his family the priority, but once he's said he wants to move north then DC will of wanted to ship him out.
Bit off that he complains about not getting back in the team because of "a little injury", which he later admits was a three month injury, that takes him to early April, given the form the team was in he could have no complaints.
Unfortunately I don't think we can read much into this about us having someone else lined up. However, if Hartley had been higher up the pecking order we'd of done more to retain him, but we will miss his goals.

Absolutely love those videos. I can just pick me out on one right in the bottom left corner of the video, which is pleasing as I can't say I remember much of the game

Well that's now about 50% of last seasons goalscorers left the club since last January. ( 6 from 13 scorers ...Snake,Hartley,Easter,Colkett,JCS,Montano) With EH still to re-sign. That's 33 or maybe 42 goals gone.
Big month ahead to replace those goals and more if top six is the target. Sercombe scored 5 so that's a start just another 28-37 minimum to find.

IMO Peter Hartley is a very good player; I cannot understand why DC would let him go, just hope we have somebody lined up.

I've been described in the past as a 'rosetinter' and to some extent I am. I'm probably over optimistic when it comes to BRFC. But I must admit a feeling of disquiet. One signing to date. Last week of June. Decent player on his toes. No GK, No striker, no new contract for Billy...
