Announcement:
We will sign players, there is still another 65-70 days left in the transfer window, stop moaning and leave the excited people like me alone from your negativity, its boring and overwhelmingly uninformed.
There is no evidence to suggest we wont sign players, and all the evidence that we will (including a signing which defeats your argument)
for those moaning about fears of no money, we just handed DC (highest paid Rovers manager in history) and improved 5 year deal, so get in the bin
Thanks for reading, now stop filling my twitter feed and these forums and go enjoy your summer in happiness
Cheers

Not even slightly concerned, personally. The window doesn't even officially open until July 1st anyway.

Facts are DC has just signed a new 5 year contract. He wouldn't had done so if he wasn't sure that the New ground was coming, he wasn't getting a very good wage budget and that he did not have a decent wedge to spent on transfers. I believe we could well spend £500k- £1 million on transfers this season if the right players become avalible, which is not always the case. It's not been a bad start by spending £150k plus on our only signing thus far and having other bits turned down.I think we could see a club record signing happen before the Chalton game.

Funny you should say this as I've had a little wager with my fellow gasheads at work that the transfer fee record will not be broken this summer.
I'm happy to lose the bet if its someone decent, after all it is a little embarrassing that our biggest transfer fee paid was 25 years ago!

£370K is still a big fee by modern standards at this level. We may very well not break it but still spend big this summer.

In pure inflationary terms, it would be the equivalent of a £750,000 transfer fee today. It did represent something like 10% of the English transfer record at the time, today we would have to spend around £6m+

But that hasn't stopped Hartley's departure being announced or Monty finding himself a new club? As far as fans saying we'll break the record transfer fee, I can't see there's any evidence DC's been given a big transfer kitty.

Thing is didn't we spend just under £1mil with Channing , Tilly and whatsisname back in the day? , and they called us rag bag Rovers mind , to think Francis only a couple of seasons before splashed out £10k out of his own sky rocket for Ollie, reckon the milkmen were money laundering back then 🤔😉

Fair play if you are, hopefully there's some signings in the coming weeks to alleviate your fears and my boredom. For what it's worth I personally feel that we're looking at paying fees for players, hence why negotiations are likely on going, and as deals cannot be finalised until the transfer window opens I imagine DC will not want to announce anything that isn't confirmed in black and white. I may well be wrong but that is my suspicion.

Does Steve Cross live local still ? he played for Bath city and Maggotfield after rovers..

Yeah £70-80k for Cross, not sure about Hardyman but whatever it was it was far too much, total car crash of a player. A lot of non-Bristolian ex Rovers players stayed local after their careers ended. Just shows its a decent place to live compared to most places in the UK.
