I agree with you and remember back to when Terry Cooper first came here he was way past his best but his class was head and shoulders above everyone he was capable of winning a game on his own ! Similar could be said of Lambert I think though I don't think he was ever as good as Cooper in his prime. For me the question is not about his class or ability I would ask does he still have the appetite and passionΒ Again I will echo that Lambert is the most complete player I've seen in a Rovers shirt. I also remember when we signed Mark Walters who was about 37, he single handedly won us games on his own with sheer brilliance. Wally Walters. Why has he never returned to do a 50/50 draw. Pure class. Best player I have seen wear the quarters.

They didn't know what had hit 'em. Every free kick we got 30 yards out, you knew Walters would smack it in the top corner. How that team didn't go up still wateres me off to this day. Roberts, Cureton, Ellington, Mark Walters, The Latvian and Bobby Zamora couldn't even get a kick. And the rest is history π£

What I really liked was the fact his legs were so utterly gone, he didn't even run much faster than a gentle trot. He was a big, heavy bloke at his age, with as much mobility as me. Yet, he turned 20 year old pacey right backs inside out and left them on their backsides, with a puzzled look on their faces. A little drop of the shoulder, a wiggle of the hits and a quick player looking like baby when you play peek-a-boo. That, for me was the measure of his class....as well as always drifting in at the right time, free kicks. If Lambo is the most complete player we've had since Bradford......Wally was the player who completely humiliated opposition, for the benefit of fans. Lambo for dough, Walters for show.

We couldn't afford to up, so Geoff Dunford told Olly and the players not to get promoted!!!! That's what all the itk'ers at the time said.....

I heard that the board reneged on any promotion pay rises for players as Olly had overstretched massively and spent his potential pay rises. The players basically didn't work as they had been promised it by Olly, who couldn't get support from the board. I think Olly is gagged on talking about this.

Come on Sir Rickie, you know it makes sense, you don't wanted to be up in Blackburn in a cold January, nor do you want to be clocking all those miles on the motorway. Come on home, a heroes return awaits; come star in our team again, can't you hear us already singing your name?

If he did the Mem would be full to capacity every match. Extra attendances could even pay some of his wages.
