not going to get carried away, because it is just 1 player, but it is encouraging enough that we are making these signings and give me more hope for biggest elephant in the room that is to be discussed tomorrow. Really hope a deal is struck. Our attractiveness as a club will rocket. tell more?

Rumours there might be a UWE Governors meeting tomorrow where the stadium might, or might not, be on the agenda to be discussed?

Question: Are Pboro skint as they finished one place below us and just sold one of their better up and coming players to us?
I would be mad if we did the same.....

Barry Fry was whinging about season tickets sales being down but they have bought in Marriott & signed Ricky Miller although they also let Smudger join Hearts, so perhaps they are cutting back on the playing budget, if so, their loss our (hopefully) gain.

They paid out 400k on Marriott and also signed Doughty from QPR and McGee from Tottenham both for undisclosed fees, so can't be that skint. I just think they wanted to offload him because he hasnt been as prolific as they expected, the fans were on his back a bit, they could recoup a decent fee from us and try a different option.

Great signing in my book. Good luck at the Gas Tom. Just been on the posh forum and the vast majority are sad to see him go and really annoyed about the boo boys hounding him out.

Connor @cpufchatton Did we make profit on what we signed him for Darragh MacAnthony @dmac102 What do you think? What a rude and obnoxious way to speak to a supporter of your club is what I think. I'm so glad we've got Wael, the mans got a nice personality and he's got class.

Haven't checked but didn't McGee go to Pompey? He did actually. I was going by Soccerbase, which is usually accurate. They got Jonathan Bond on a loan instead. Still spent a few quid on Marriott/Doughty and will spend again if needed, despite Barry Fryup's moanings.

Just had a glance at P'Borough forum, seems they are very unhappy they've let him go, apparently a small section of their fanbase disliked him him and it ultimately led to him wanting out.
Talking about the fee, one of them said '800k' would be a fair price whilst another said 1M 👀 Their owner/chairman apparently told one of them to 'behave' when asked if they'd accepted 180k for him which makes you think it must have been 200k+

Nichols was signed as a replacement for Conor Washington who had scored 15 goals in 31 games that season before leaving for QPR. Nichols came in and scored 1 goal in 7 games and then in the next season only scored 10 league goals so you can understand some wanting improvement in that area. Hopefully he'll make a better start here and score a load. I reckon they paid around £280k and sold him for around about the same. Our club historian suggests £300k.
