Although we all want some news on the new ground the situation at rovers when viewed in the medium/long term gives every reason to be optimistic. However with the partial breaking up of the conference team and several new recruits to bed in along with the obvious fact that recruitment hasnt gone totally to plan i think this could be a difficult season. The squad looks a bit unbalanced to me and i dont see enough goals in the team or enough clean sheets. Bottom half for me,what do others think?
I know this could be viewed as a negative thread but i think were rebuilding and the team wont be ready to push on until 2018-19 in my opinion.

BB do you really believe we'll struggle or are you just attention seeking again?

I think we'll finish somewhere between 3rd and mid table. I know that's a pretty open prediction but the truth is we don't know how our new signings are going to get on how many injuries we'll have etc. I'm confident we'll keep progressing under DC because we have so far but how much progress is anyone's guess.

I dont entirely disagree with the OP if i'm honest, i do think we are short of players who improve on what we had last year. As it stands if we cant bring in a quality CB, Winger and Striker i would say a mid table finish could be about right. Im prepared to give the club and DC until the deadline to bring the players in, but if we get the 1 September with couple of loaneee kids who are bit part players then my estimation wouldn't change. We must push the boat out a little if we really want to build on last season.

How do you know recruitment obviously hasn't gone to plan?
The fact is, none of us know who DC wanted, or indeed who is yet to come in.
A glass half-full post for me.

Couldn't disagree more with the OP. I think that we have a very exciting squad that can finish top half as a minimum and with the 4 extra signings that DC is promising us who knows? Never been a better time to support the Gas!

According to Mr Pulis, we have a well balanced side - but then, he's only a very experienced, well respected Premiership manager. The OP obviously a better judge of these things.

For what it's worth I don't think we will do any worse than last season. We only had many of our best players (Taylor, Lumley, Sweeney etc) for half a season I think we are actually going to be slightly stronger this season as we will have both keepers, Nichols, Sercombe and hopefully Sweeney for the whole of this season.
