To be fair the al-quadis had the finance in place for UWE so they could do the same for the mem redevelopment. Well I might be assuming that the finance was in place. I'm sure someone said it was. I really can not see a redeveloped Mem being the way to go. It's already a nightmare in the area with the congestion etc. Could see lots of public objections etc. Double the size, and even with imaginative travel plans it would grind the area to a halt. I agree the transport links are already stretched so would certainly be an issue if the capacity was increased. I wonder if anything can be done with road layouts or public transport to make it a bit better on matchdays?

If they couldn't do a deal with the UWE there's not a hope in hell they'll finance a new stadium on land that's not already presented to them on a silver platter.
Personally, I've lost all trust in the ownership and won't be able to believe a word Wael and co. say going forward. All those stupid hope-building tweets 'watch this space' etc.
No wonder he blushed with embarrassment back when he was persistently labelled by some as a billionaire.

Well it kind of depends what "the deal" was. All we know is it's off. If they considered it bad for BRFC then why would they do it. Think we need some more info (if at all possible) as to why it's been called off before we can say one way or the other.

Straight off the back of the update... let's see the response from the BoD over the next few weeks which will signal intent.

We have to trust them it was obviously not right for the club let's hope they let us know why it fell through and what the back up plan is (assuming there is one) They will need to reassure us now as there will be so much disappointment about the place, let's hope the team do us proud on Saturday😕

Chris Brown has forced their hand quite rightly. This has been known for some time now, but at least the bullsh*t delays re an announcement has now been brought to an end.
Well done Browner.

anyone else thinking there is more bad news to follow? I'm hoping not, but I'm a teeny bit concerned by the club's decision to put out a statement regarding the stadium at eleven o'clock at night in an apparent attempt to squash the Chris Brown 'bad news' rumours, when up until now they've always responded in their own good time, if at all. The rush to point us in the direction of the stadium news does make me wonder a bit if an attempt is being made to divert everyone from some of the even worse speculation that was going on.

Yeah I feel the guys FB post sounded a lot worse than the club have revealed. Something in me just feels there may be a part 2 to all this.

The Wael family looking to get out while they can possibly. I have to say i'm yet to be convinced by Wael and co and this has been my position ever since they came in.

I have to say i'm yet to be convinced by Wael and co and this has been my position ever since they came in. Well i have been critical of wael in the past in particular over last seasons pre-season recruitment although that was not appreciated on here much. But why would he pay possibly about 400-450k on sercombe/nicholls and extend the managers contract as well as other staff appointments if he wants out?
