Would be nice for the club to wheel someone out tomorrow, probs Hamer, to discuss what the next steps are rather than leaving us in the lurch. But then again, can we trust the bloke?! I have had my reservations abiut him from the start "landing lights etc", whatever the reasoning for this he has made us a look a bunch of mugs. The only people he made look like mugs are those that tend to beleive everything that is said. Most of us knew deep down UWE was dead

unless a plan b stadium is magiced out of nowhere then I'm afraid that is all well and good but won't progress any further from our current position. DC will have his head turned. New academy players if any good will be approached by other clubs and have another reason to not stay. staff can be let go as quickly as they are hired to cut losses. Live I hope that there is a plan B..will have to wait and find out. Belter alert 😒😒🤦🏼♂️ Thanks for letting us know you've arrived.

It may not be the best news but we have been expecting it. Wael must have known for a while. The investment continues. So why are people saying he's looking to sell? I doubt yesterday evening went like this;
Wael: Steve! The Internet has gone mad! What's happening? Hamer: The UWE is fcked. Wael: What! When? How? But I've just spent a fortune on a training ground, contracts, the pitch! You should have kept me up to date with the position Steve! That's it I'm off.
So I reckon he's staying.

My biggest frustration is the whole uncertainty for ages with the stadium and the fact that we only get a statement at 11pm at nght because of some bloke spouting on twitter about bad news coming. Just makes us look unprofessional and fills me with zero confidence.

No, in some ways it is worse than that. Wael would have already have known, yet nothing was said, no statement or f**k all. Unless Chris Brown knew before our own club at 8/9 o'clock past night. Disappointed and let down and really not up for Charlton now.

i understand that but all the quotes from Hamer and Waels selective/cryptive tweets suggesting thing are on track. Should have said ages that the current terms are not in rovers favour rather than the "we remain committed and are confident of a positive outcome" line. But we don't know the details of the negotiations do we. At the end of the day it was land owned by the UWE,they held all the cards and their demands and stipulations could have been way off what was considered a fair deal. Due to confidentiality clauses doubt we will ever know, but have to trust Wael and his family that they are doing it in the interest of the club, we have no right to tell them how to invest their money, however the lack of communication has been irritating, but it has looked dead in the water for months.

Don't fully understand why people think they have made any investment other than time in the club, all the money spent is set against the mem by way of a charge, its a debt for the club not a family investment.

Nothing like a good feel factor, to get the season rolling👍 Really hope they get some players in soon. The clubs fans need a pick me up. I'm personally not that gutted, I'd rather they update the Mem. The best location in Bristol👏. See you all at charlton. UTG

This football club is going nowhere if we stay at the Mem.

What I mean, is people in football say all sorts of stuff, and then the opposite happens. We aren't selling x?, We aren't sacking the manager etc. Everything is about keeping the fans onside

Plenty on here said Hamer wasn't necessary a stand up guy and were shouted down. Indeed as the thread you bumped said, you were not fully convinced. I'm not sure if last night's statement makes him a liar now, but it doesn't make anyone look good.

So lying then? Wonder if we would have had such good ST sales if this info got out earlier?

The thing is the more you build something up then the more let down people are going to feel.

I criticised Hamer about a month ago for leading us along and got jumped on so I felt like an "I told you so" bump myself to be honest but it's something of a pyrrhic victory.
