"The whole deal was bad from Nick's ownership. The whole deal was jinxed. The Sainsbury court case was the ender." It's the way I see it too. Higgs set up a deal where Sainsbury's and UWE were going to both going to have us over. First Sainsbury's pulled out. Second would have come UWE if Sainsbury's hadn't pulled out Sainsburys pulling out of that contract saved our club at the time. Wael came in said we don't need Sainsbury's let's have a look at the UWE deal looked at it and said no Dam way. End of.

In a surprise move to generate some extra revenue Rovers have announced that the abandonment of the Frenchay Campus Stadium project means that it no longer has to be named the UWE and thus they can sell the naming rights to it. Despite this unpromising scenario they actually have already received some keen interest from a laundry pre-wash product manufacturer. It is anticipated that from tomorrow we will all be referring to the VANISH Stadium.

It is anticipated that from tomorrow we will all be referring to the VANISH Stadium. It hasn't vanished because it wasn't even close. I met Higgs just before he sold to Wael and the appeal was ongoing and his arrogance in his "we will build the stadium " was appalling , I don't claim to know all the ins and outs of his tragic deal but i am a good judge of character and he was fuckng embarrassing, I walked out of the box that I'd co - paid for and didn't return until he'd left I'll always support my club but he wasn't a man personality or chairman I ever had faith in. Ps good joke sorry to be so serious but I'm just f**ked off that we're still paying for our previous boards incompetence. It can take time to turn things around I've got the patience I feel we are in good hands UTG

So they had proposals which they gave UWE a deadline (end of July) to accept, and UWE didn't meet (ignored) the deadline. Yet UWE claim they don't know why Rovers moved on. Surely someone could have phoned UWE as the deadline approached...Seems that UWE are willing to try again and that for whatever reason the Al Qadis are not willing to take up that offer. What's to be lost my one more meeting other than pride? Trying to negotiate through lawyers is never a good approach rather UWE and Al Qadis needed to agree terms and then tell lawyer to draw up paperwork and advise on things that have been missed. I think we need to learn that lawyers are not the best people to make deals there role is to facilitate and ensure things are not missed and are legally sound.

Surely this should have been dumped months ago if the two parties were that far away from an agreement what a waste of time and effort let alone money. We deserve To know what went wrong here,!

The rumours suggest that everything had been agreed. Compromises had been made on both sides, and all that was needed was the sign off. The AQ family have been sat on this paperwork for a few weeks. This whole 'deadline' story is just utter borrux and is insulting to all Rovers fans. The AQ family wanted out of the deal, and they have behaved no differently to Sainsbury's.

Today in a nutshell: 1: Rovers are done for under poor ownership Wael = No communication. Hamer = Sh*t when communicating. 2: The players are slightly down and feel for the fans after stadium failure. 3: DC looks suicidal in his interview. oh dear, need some valium ? it helps

'This time next week, we could be in a better position all round as a club'.
What did SH mean by that? He slipped out in near the end when most people had switched off.

Or this time next week we could have been stuffed by Charlton lost at home to Cambridge and booked a flight with Dignitas! But I'm sure we'll be fine

Your last line Nobby says it exactly as it is. Our Board have behaved no different to Sainsbury's. Mull over that one everyone and if you're ok with it then you can get off your high horse about the way Sainsbury's conducted themselves.

But we have no contract with UWE so how can it be the same?

The way Hamer spoke in both interviews yesterday (on radio and official site) it would not surprise me one bit if the UWE deal was back on the table in 2 weeks time
