Previously from Wael it was "UWE the only site, everything including finance is in place" and from Hamer "There is no Plan B"
Now from Wael it's "redeveloping the Mem was always plan B."
Avoided any real explanation of why they pulled out hiding behind "confidentiality."
Lots of umming and ahhing. Personally I can't trust a word the bloke says.

Mad that I have that I have to share a football club with pathetic throwbacks like you, yes bro. Aww sorry snowflake, if I knew a bit of light hearted humour in these slightly drab times was gonna [] then I would have thought twice. What a melt. [edit] [Ok, I've edited this coz it's just an escalation of what went before. Please sort it out in the car park and not on the forum, or something. Now I feel like the guy complaining about the build up to the Mayweather-McGregor fight -AF]

Theres no evidence to support that though. We had 2 promotions and a play-off push in league 1 to average 9k! If we won the championship i reckon we would average about 13k at best, sure the wembley bunch would go at the end of the season for the glory. IF we struggled after a promotion to the championship we would average no more than 8k imo. We've got a home game against *whoever fc * , we're near the top of the league. It's made all ticket .so weeks before you have to be organised to sort your ticket out. There's no leaving it to the day to see what the weathers like , no ringing round a few casual gas mates saying " hey fancy watching the Rovers tomorrow ? It's a big game and should be a good crowd " theres no chance of getting a seat if that's what you want . I agree if we struggled we might struggle for crowds but if that's all we are hoping for or expecting then fine. If and when we go up I'd expect us to want to compete. If we do well 15k would not be enough. Well if we had a smart new mem with a 15k capacity and we sold out most home games that would be our best average attendances since the 1950"s probably so it would be massive progress.

Aww sorry snowflake, if I knew a bit of light hearted humour in these slightly drab times was gonna pull the tampon out yer fanny then I would have thought twice. What a melt. Happy to have you explain the humour in your post on Saturday if your tiny bollocks haven't shriveled up by then. Let me know if you're keen and I'll send you my number xx ooh you're hard (Ricky Gervais Style). Why would I wanna have a meet with knuckle dragger like you who's clearly got anger issues. Have a little read back at our conversation, maybe your response to my first post. Offering people out on a forum you're absolutely pathetic.

And you've got the nerve to call me a snowflake and a melt hahahahaha.

The 'snowflake' remark although provocative is clearly true as you're getting awfully uptight at the smallest things and not only at me but with other posters. As I consider myself to have an IQ higher than 0 then the idea of meeting up with some loose cannon for a fisticuffs does not interest me. Toodle pip.

I've no intention of any sort of violence but I had a pretty good hunch that you'd not be prepared to make the offensive 'jokes' you make behind your internet anonymity in the real world. And it turns out I was right you coward.

I agree, most of what was previously said by both Steve Hamer and Wael has since been contradicted by their recent statements. So I can understand why people's trust (and mine) might be waning. In that interview I thought there was no real conviction in his answers. I think that he'll be off in the not too distant future, I only hope our beloved club survives this.

No need to worry about me, I have two immediate gay friends and my missus has a lesbian friend who we bother with collectively. Well if there's no violence involved then I'd be more than happy to discuss my satirical humour with you, or alternatively anything gas related. Disclaimer: I will be equipped with pepper spray.

So now, with you backed in to a corner, it's suddenly satire? And you've played the "I can't be racist I've got a black mate" card as well. If it wasn't for the fact that I don't know what satire is I'd say you must be a pretty good example. Can't wait to listen to an explanation of your satirical humour but will bring an ear trumpet so I can hear you over the sound of your ferocious back-pedalling.

Back peddling? I'm pretty certain I've said it's satire all along, again maybe you should read our conversation this time with your head outside your arsehole. As for me saying about my gay or lesbian friends that's was to make you feel more comfortable as you're clearly getting your knickers in a twist. Here we go then here's some more 'homophobic' humour for you...what do you call a lesbian dinosaur? .........a lickalotapuss. If the mods or a significant amount other users feel I'm being 'homophobic' then I will happily ban myself. As for you, supreme leader of the PC brigade I'm sorry I upset you.
homophobic ˌhɒməˈfəʊbɪk,ˌhəʊməˈfəʊbɪk/ adjective adjective: homophobic having or showing a dislike of or prejudice against homosexual people.

Anyway.
If by redeveloping the Mem they mean knock the whole thing down and build a new stadium then I'm all for it.
Anything else, then no. Get out.

It sounds like we would not have owned the stadium had we gone ahead with UWE if this is the case then fair enough--But why did it take 18 months to realise this very strange ? I think we need a DC intervention now just to reassure us all but I fear his patience is starting to wear thin just when we thought the club were on the up!!😡😡

I do feeel like we were fed a load of BS when we were told the drainage and re-surfacing had no bearing on us moving. Maybe. But did we need the drainage sorting, and did DC want a better pitch? Yep. did we get it? Yep. Did we just win our first proper game on it 4-1 with some super quick slick play? Yep. So why complain???

That could be interpreted as.. the only site BRFC/DS are looking at is the UWE. Which is true. People have to remember that football is now a proper business and investment. With that your approach and thinking changes and evolves constantly to various decisions that impact the direction of your business takes. When WAQ and co took over they inherited the project. As time has gone on it's become less and less viable. So the direction of the business has changed. I'm in business myself, the amount of times I've said that's enough investment/staff/equipment purchase for me we are fine as we are and then to change my mind or have something forced upon me has been numerous. So much so you accept that nothing is ever certain. I've also taken over businesses and during the negotiations you never want to give anything away so there are always confidentiality between the sides. It's a protection as much for your own position as much as it is to have a welch on the other side if it goes south.

I have not bothered to read the whole thread so forgive me if I am going over old ground. I support Bristol Rovers, it's never been an 'easy, ride, it's kind of like playing golf against pro,s when you don't even have a handicap. I would not have it any other way . Whilst I am a little disheartened that we have lost out on a great new stadium, I am so much happier than I was 3 years ago. Redevelopment of the mem; wonderful. We have a stadium that we can redevelop and an owner that wants to do so. A redeveloped stadium is not worse than a shiny new one, it's just different. I wonder how many Man U, Chelsea, Celtic, Rangers, fans are baying for a move? When city could not develop Ashton Vale what did they do? I have no intention of setting foot there but all my City mates love it.
Wael and his family have sunk their cash, effort and expertise into our club. They have tried to get UWE off the ground but been thwarted by the other party. In the meantime they have negotiated, bought and developed the Coloney. These are not signs of a man giving up, they are true commitments to building our club. We are Bristol Rovers, it's always been uphill, but the slope has been getting less steep recently. Surely we can embrace the good, forgive the man for not being able to deliver what we had been promised by people long gone, and get on supporting our fantastic, evolving, promising, exciting club. Whilst we are doing this we should be thanking our lucky stars we are not Hereford, Stockport or Darlington fans.

Yeah but Trash is supported by the GREEN PARTY who campaigned heavily against all 3 developments around Gloucester Road. The GREENS in their materials and website supported Horfield Rose : Trash and the Howzat campaign ( against Gloucestershire cricket ). As far as I am concerned they are largely the same 'crew' hiding under different protest groups. I would be amazed if Trash and the Greens suddenly started supporting a modern revamped Memorial ground. They talk about supporting and maintaining a valuable local facility. But what have they actually done in the last 20 years ? Have they set up a body to attract funding or grants to support the Memorial ground ? Will they bless an increased capacity ? Will they be celebrating we are now staying and even expanding ? Sadly : there aim is to protest and undermine any sporting progress. The Greens got absolutely smashed in the last local elections. Even beaten by the Tory candidate who didn't even bother campaigning.

So first question I have after seeing this interview...
He said the charge on the mem is the family protecting their investement (which is kind of obvious).
How are they going to protect any future investement that exceeds the value of The Mem?
