For me I think it'll be: GK - Smith LB - Brown CB - Sweeney CB - Locks RB - Partington (not sure if Leads is fit after he came off Tues?) LCM - Sercs CM - Clarke (O) RCM - Lines LF - Nichols CF - Harrison RF - Bodin Subs : Leads, Slocombe, Gaffney, Moore, Telford, Sincs, Broadbent Think we'll start 4-3-3 and go to 4-4-2 in the 2nd Half when we're a goal or 2 up! I can't recall many games DC's dropped Sincs in the 3 years he's been at the club, plus given that OC's been injured I can see that being good enough for DC to start OC on the bench tomorrow.

Wasn't sure on OC ..... I thought he was fit and rested Tues? If he has been injured then it'll be a swap for Sincs but with Lines playing more central I reckon...

You're probably right, I'm not use to us having such a good squad we can rest players like OC, although still think DC will stick with Tuesday's starting 11, unless he decides to change the 4-3-3 formation tomorrow.

We do seem to have a good squad, albeit new signings as yet unproven at this stage.
How many of DC's target number did we get in the end? I've lost count.

Keepers, Sweeney, Nichols, Sercombe definite and wouldn't surprise me if Bola and Telford weren't first choice ones either as back up or different options.... Broadbent is probably the Unknown test that at first looks appear to be a hidden gem as he looks like a good acquisition to me.... I reckon DC wanted a mix of players to start and be 'ready' straight away and also some who were ones who would be ready next season onwards but would be options as fringe players this year.... Think he's just after 2 players now who are ready for this campaign - Left Winger / Mid and a challenging forward in the guise of a target man / more direct play CF to put pressure on Harrison and Gaffney....

Peterborough are no mugs and it won't be an easy game for sure regardless of our home record. Strongest team out to win the game please DC Erm....yes thats what is being discussed I think? The issue is different opinions again see.

weren't most of the team poor? Of course DC's favourites played on Tuesday again and played fine. Brown's usless crossing wasn't a problem on Tuesday etc, etc
In your team for the next game on your match report, you gave Sercombe the captaincy based on what exactly other than you think Tom isn't up to it
Brown's "useless crossing" was not a problem on Tuesday because he hardly got the ball to cross. In fact on several occasions he was ignored by Nichols and Co and left as a spectator on the left side of Cambridges area. Brown has set up more goals from crosses than any other Rovers player in DCs time here yet people seem to think he can't cross the ball. Strange. Marcus Stewart played top flight football and he said the other night that Lee Brown is the best crosser of the ball at the club. Obviously some in here know better.

I must be blind then as he put a string of superb crosses in and i think had 2 assists? You obviously were not at the game on tuesday night.

People see different things but I thought Brown played well Tues and certainly had 2 assists and put in a fair few decent crossed..... Charlton he was not up to his usual standards but neither was most of the team! Reckon I saw the same game as you Tues BB! For me Brown is a decent player and is a decent crosser of the ball! Let's hope for more of the usual Brown tomorrow !

I think brown had a good game because he had a right footed player in front of him. He was excellent and created so much with monkhouse who is right footed but often didn't get the chance to get wide and forward last season either because of formation or having a left winger in front of him. By playing Sincs there who will naturally drift inside it gives Browner that carrot to go chasing down the line I also think Sercombe in the inside left position worked well in the second half on Tuesday. Browns a quality player at this level all the time the set up of the team allows him to do what he's good at. He'll have poor games if he didn't he wouldn't be in league 1 but I think people saying he's a weak link or can't cross the ball are way off the mark.

If Tom Lockyer plays vs Posh I believe it will be his 200th appearance for Rovers.
He's only 22 as well!

There is potential at rovers to break with the normal trend and have several players making 200+ appearances. lines, brown and lockyer already there leadbitter, harrison,o clarke and stuart sinclair all possibles in the near future, its great imo

I'd go with that first team starting line up the only change I make would be Gaffers for Harrison. Would like to see Telford get some minutes under his belt

That would be 8 players with over 1,700 appearances between them.

I was at the game, he played a crossfield pass to BB for the first goal and crossed for Ellis to head the third. Other than that most of the crosses from that side came in from Nichols and I struggle to remember a string of superb crosses you mention he put in. If that was the case he would have been MOM by a country mile. Have a look at his scores by people who attended on the regular thread at the top of the page.

Bideford - not saying you didn't see what you saw or weren't at the match, just that I saw something different and from my perspective I thought Brown played well, put in some decent crosses and wasn't ignored (he was used as a decoy sometimes to help create space).... My view is that Brown is a solid consistent full back who is a decent crosser of the ball. He on the odd occasion doesn't play as well as he normally does but he is no weak link .....

I am not saying Brown did not have a good game, he played reasonably as far as I am concerned. I was in hospitality with the FFSC on Tuesday night and watched the game from the boxes at the bacK of the Dribuild right on the halfway line. I normally watch from the West enclosure as I will today. The view from that high up gives a vastly superior view especially of the whole pitch and you can see far more movement etc from the players.I simply posted what I saw nothing more, others are entitled to their opinions and they are perfectly entitled to as far as I am concerned.
