How close can you get over a former club Director? Although have the fence contractors now been paid? Nope, well they've had 3k out of 40k. The consultants of the Colony are owed the most apparently. £40k seems like a bloody expensive fence - have they turned the place into Fort Knox?

Sort of, as half of the ground is now protected by a 6" high metal security fence, the type you now get around schools etc.

The suggestion on the OF is that it's The Colony fence contractors who've not been paid, with Hani pulling the plug on any future investment on the training ground. The contractors are apparently Gasheads so you'd assume there's some truth in the story."Harry Buckle" who's a well known Gashead, posted something on the OF which seems to back up the OP if true: "I understand Wael is not back till Blackpool match. Does anyone know if he consortium offer for the Club on Tuesday is progressing ? If their second bid is turned down they are apparently going to the Press. They in conjunction the UWE want to proceed with the Stadium." Nah I couldn't imagine gasheads making up an enormous amount of bullsh1t either. Surely not? So are you saying all the talk about the fence contractors not being paid is BS?? not being paid is BS??

Didn't they say something when Rovers pulled out about "carrying on with the plans for a stadium" (or words to that effect)?

Think I will stick with this forum after reading the musings of the experts on that forum, makes you want to lose the will to live. Must be something in the air over there! After reading that am wondering if I turn up Saturday will I find the Mem gates locked and a notice telling me BRFC no longer exists. UTG! Thing is some of what is being said makes sense, although something seems to be missing that makes none of it make any sense
It's accepted that some people haven't been paid (Wael basically said it in his interview). The reasons as to why appear to be cloudy at best, but it appears to be do to with the training ground. People know the people not being paid because they are Gasheads.
I have no problem Rovers pulling out of UWE if it was a bad deal, but it would be interesting to know why it was such a bad deal. It must be that bad to pull out of a shiny stadium that in theory is supposed to generate money and one that apparently had finance in place, in order to so say start from scratch at The Mem which will probably require a bigger outlay with no asset to sell to off set against the cost
I can't get my head around any of it. Part of the jigsaw is missing somewhere. It's like having all the squares in catchphrase but missing the square that gives the answer away Pretty much sums it up. If we go on the facts then the only thing we know is that we've pulled out of the deal for the UWE. We don't know why, we don't know the detailed reasons and we know little about any plan B. That's all we know. Some have been delving into the finances and feel that the spending is set against our asset of the Mem. From this all speculation flows! Since, Wael has been on Twentyman and managed to avoid giving any detailed answers to some straight questions. So adding that to what is known has got gasheads worried. As I said earlier Wael and the Al-Qadis need to communicate to the club and its fans some kind of vision for the future, whilst it doesn't need to be detailed it does need to cover the playing side, the training ground and some kind of statement relating to the ground whether it's a "new" one or the Mem refurbished. That should be a minimum of what they do. I hope they do it but I won't hold my breath. I am neither a "rose-tinter" nor an apologist for our owners. All I am is a fan who has supported for over 50 years who would like some honest information about my club. I don't need protection, I can handle bad news, even very bad news but it would be good to just have an honest and accurate statement outlining the vision for the next few years. UTG!

He was financially advising the UWE from what i remember. There must be an FA rule that says he cant back both the sh** and us financially if he was involved in the consortium.

Yup there's an FA by-law which states "No figment of someone's overactive imagination may own a club in the Football League". Subsection B to that is the one that talks about how existing club owners are barred from providing finance to those made-up, imaginary organisations.

The Al-Qadis have failed to achieve the one thing that would have secured the stability and prosperity of the football club for decades to come and most importantly provide Bristol City with credible competition which is absolutely essential imo. Unless they can come up with some believable explanation of why the UWE deal was so terrible for the club and the fans - not just the requirements of the family - they have certainly lost my support of them. If there are others waiting in the wings who seriously want to build a healthy business collaboration between the football club, UWE and South Glos, the Al-Qadis should do the honourable thing; stop feeding the fans with improbable fantasies and step aside, sooner rather than later.

Well, I've heard of throwing your toys out the pram, but blimey. Unless they can prove to you to your satisfaction why they didn't do exactly what you wanted them to do, exactly when you wanted it, with the explanation that you demand (even though everyone agrees there is a confidentiality agreement and so this would be illegal anyway) then you refuse to support them. Even though every other board had collectively forty years to sort this out, and the new regime has only been here 18 months and were working on a deal they didn't even put together. Obviously you can support who you want for whatever reasons, but demanding the board step aside coz they don't do exactly what you want makes you look about 12. Honestly, I don't really get why we keep going through this. Why won't they tell us exactly why this deal didn't work? Coz of the confidentiality agreement. Yeah, but they could just tell us. No, there's a confidentiality agreement. But can't they just tell us? No. Why not? Coz that's what a confidentiality agreement is. But they won't tell us. Yes, because of the confidentiality agreement. So, they must have something to hide. Why. Coz they won't tell us. etc...

Can you post a link so I can read it through? Thank you.

To be fair to NH we knew full well why the previous Mem development and UWE Stadium projects bit the dust. I'm not sure how far confidentiality clauses go but I assume it would allow a party to explain briefly to their shareholders why the project failed.
