Pretty shrewd dealings in the transfer market kept us solvent for 20 years. And they acquired a piece of real estate for 2.5m now probably worth 15m. Dunford and higgs were only modestly wealthy compared to the al qadi's. The new owners have invested nothing. Why buy a football club that needs a new stadium when you aren't prepared to invest the necessary funds to build one. But they are if you take your blinkers of your horse head Keep believing it, when all the evidence suggests otherwise. All they have done so far is given us a loan secured on our only asset. May as well have gone to a bank....oh wait a minute!!!

May as well have gone to a bank....oh wait a minute!!! All evidence suggests otherwise? So you've forgotten about the new training ground, larger staff and playing budgets aswell as the various small improvements made to the mem. The charge just protects our asset, stop trying to make a problem when their isn't one there.

As I said before , I don't eat at the mem. But there are more important things in life then a f**king pasty! If you don't like it , don't buy it ! So yeah just accept it and move on. I go to rovers to watch football not for the food , if I wanted to eat nice food I would go to a decent restaurant, not a grotty pasty hut. Ok. Thanks. Can I say that Moore isn't very good then? Or are all complaints off bounds? Thing is, the water poor food and water poor service could be seen as symptomatic of a Board not giving a toss about the fans. Lucky then, that they seem happy to communicate with supporters about things and value the elected Fans Directors. Woo woo!! Are all complaints off ? Why the sarcasm? I'm disagreeing with your views on a pasty and you decide to bring Moore into the equation which holds no relevance to what we've been discussing what so ever , you're either trying to be condescending towards me or you have no idea how a discussion works ? Woo woo !

The Dunfords did not buy the Mem - but they did make it possible for Investors to buy the Mem. (Preference shareholders) Some of those investors are still waiting to be repaid. They should have been repaid within five years but 21 years on ?? considerable monies are still owed. A few of the investors including the Dunford family have been repaid but not all I thought we had a mortgage with barcays bank to buy the mem 50% from Barclays 50% from private investors.

The question is will we always remain at our tinpot and poxy stadium? Wael and his family certainly have the money to redevelopment the Mem, certainly more than Higgs and Dunford. Bristol City and Southampton are light years in front of us in terms of infrastructure.

Thanks for reinforcing all our concerns In fairness to WAQ, he has said as much, we are staying at the MEM, and for whatever reason the planners have not said **** knows what, so he is unable to submit a planning application, and he wants to be seen as a caring neighbour and will not start work on marking out a couple of pitches, doh. Lets hope he is more forth coming in providing DC with some dosh to buy a couple of players before the close of the transfer window

You appeared condescending in your post because because some people want and expect better food, I was responding in kind.

Yea well, some of us take the opportunity to meet up with family before kick off and as many need to travel it would be nice if the refreshments were decent enough to actually stomach.

I hear what you are saying regarding the football, but what happens off the pitch could seriously affect the football you watch. For example, what if DC had been given promises before signing his new contract that are now impossible to deliver? Maybe DC will be off, and you couldn't blame him if so, and then that would affect the football you want to watch. Is there a struggle ongoing within the AQ family? Has Wael had his money supply cut-off? The food issue may seem trivial, but is it a sign that not everything is hunky-dory at the club? Food and drink have a huge mark-up when it comes to profit, and surely the club should be doing everything in their power to maximise that?

Wael is a businessman so obviously wants to attain as much money as possible meaning increased revenue and higher decision football. He is determined to build modern facilities, stadium and training ground, be patient gasheads. He is not potless.

People keep repeating this, but can anyone find any 'business' that he has actually done?

Why would it be private, I know what my MD's done in the past, we all know what Dunford and Higgs did in there business life's? What's Wael's full time job now, President of Rovers or is he back working at AJIB now he's back in Jordan for a couple of months?

Fair play, there's some top notch a holes on this forum.
Seems as if you won't be happy unless Rovers crash and burn, and bloody Higgs in his ill fitting suits is gibbering on TV in a failed attempt to look professional!

According to his Linkedin profile, he has been an Assistant General Manager at the bank for the last 26 years ! Make of that what you will!

You'd be quite happy for WAQ to outline what deals he's done on behalf of his clients over the last 12 months? Seriously? Who is your MD? Name, Business, dealings and contacts, I'm sure he'd be delighted to know you've just put that out here.

I thought we had a mortgage with barcays bank to buy the mem 50% from Barclays 50% from private investors. According to reports there was a 2 million pound loan from the bank that was cleared a few years ago.so now you are saying it was 50% from investors whereas a few days ago it was 100%
