Perfectly timed run by Ellis, exactly level when pass made, and what a ball from sercombe.

Lovely assist, good composure, nice finish.

Seemed like a weird kit clash with us in our home white shorts.
Great finish by Ellis although I must admit he looks just offside.

Managed to pause the video at the moment the ball is played and their #15 (the defender in the middle, not the one closest) is at least level with Ellis. The Linesman is a little bit ahead of play and so from his point of view Ellis will have looked even more onside - if he had been behind play he probably would have flagged.

Very marginal either way, but the linesman is not in a good position to call it. He's goalside of both Ellis and the last defender which makes it hugely difficult to call. I Lino for my 15 year olds team, and the basic rule is that you need to be in line with the last defender, however where you're a bit short of pace compared to the kids, the inclination is to give yourself a head start! Maybe the Linesman in this case has the same problem!!

Steve Dunn was on Twentyman the other night and really struck by his insistence that he only gives pens where he is sure of what he has seen, a good rule for anyone trying to ref or lino at any level. Doesn't of course change people seeing (or cameras showing) otherwise. 9 times out of 10 Ellis would have been given off there I am pretty sure, but well done him for playing to the whistle (the other big rule in football, especially for kids)

Though tbf even Ellis would sometimes like to have a little lie down at the keepers feet in the situation. Great he didn't. It was a thunderous run . . .

Did the ref just give that bloke a yellow for missing that header? 😂😂 Of course not but deserved one!

Their CB went full on Smooth Criminal to keep Ellis onside!
Didn't Fulham have a MJ statue at one point?!
