Anyone else notice that DC just sat in the bench tonight? Didn't seem to get up and shout at all and looked quite a lonely figure sat there. Seemed a little odd and sounded downbeat in interview after. Wonder what has been said or happened? What a ridiculous thread - why should the manager be prowling around the technical area - and so what if he doesn't leap around when we score - just like Van Gaal in fact. He has his own style and way of doing things and so long as we play well and do well, who cares? How come we win and still get a subject basically criticising Darrell Clarke?

I don't think that is the only reason. Quite often in the past he has been seen up and shouting but more often lately he has just been sitting down and in interviews particularly last night sounded very downbeat, almost depressed like. I don't know what to make of it all.

I didn't read it as criticism. Someone just remarking that DC's behaviour has changed a bit, and wondering why. Istm DC has realised him going nuts on the sideline isn't particularly helping anyone and he is making an effort to be a bit more selective about what he shouts, and a bit more calm and analytical in how he views the game.

Clarke is having to learn quick and change some of his ways. The big mouth sounded good but he couldn't deliver so he's now starting to change, he knows he's in trouble because he talked a lot and didn't walk much. Hopefully he's learnt and as a result we can move forward. I think we all know his persona needs working on.
Let's hope both he and the club learn and progress.

Not one ounce of criticism meant by my thread. I just remember how he used to prowl around the dug out and kick every ball and last night he seemed totally different. Just an observation. For all I care he could be sat in the portaloos by the south stand as long as we win

The answer to all our problems.

It was very noticeable. He did have a big shout when Martin took a corner but that was about it, but showed he was in fine voice so not ill. Maybe being the statesman like manager and leaving it up to stewie on the day (worryingly as he used to with ward) or hopefully confident he'd done his talking before the game. And to be fair he seemed to have yesterday

Shurly that's how it should be? Managers manage, coaches coach.

I noticed that too and also when we scored none of our bench celebrated, which I thought was a little odd. They did

I was told he received some abuse before the game from behind the dug out, fine way to treat a member of the club! For what it matters we are becoming a team difficult to turn over at home, let's see if Fortress Mem mentality can be transferred to the road? Yeah a load of numb nuts right behind the dugout started to sing "this is your last game" as he took his seat, what prats they are

Is there a motive for that sort of shout unless you are intent on making yourself look like a lady garden?

Perhaps DC's decided the prowling the touchline whilst kicking every ball approach isn't working, or somebody as suggested MS should have more involvment, then again perhaps he is taking the GJ approach after NH upset him for some reason.

I must admit I didn't notice Clarke at all in the first half, I wasn't sure if he was even there, usually he's quite animated on the sidelines. To be honest, I'm not bothered what he does while he's on the touchline or in the dug out as long as he keeps getting results.

the first thing I noticed Clarke do was punch the dugout when Parkes missed the header to make it 2 nil and bury the game. he got up a couple of times after that and he seemed more agitated (to my untrained) eye then active as it were.
I got the feeling he knows he is under pressure to get wins in the next few games or he could get the chop
