The irony being, I am actually starting to come around to bring more pro Clarke.
This is his first squad remember, so he has only had one window to work in with one hand tied behind his back.
We are going to lack a bit of quality and not every signing will work out but by and large Clarke has put together a reasonable bunch on the cheap. Given a second window in the winter to tweek things he may just get better.
We now work hard for 90 mins to a man. You can clearly see evidence of training ground moves in our set play.
Unbeaten at home so far (even if a little lucky) is a good platform.
I'm not so worried about the Braintree result. sh** is gunna happen like that all year.
The one problem I've seen in Clarke is his bullish nature. Maybe he is finally toning down that side of his persona. If so, that's another positive for me.

He now realises that his soundbite oeuvre was not very clever and that what he and the team gets judged on, ultimately, is results. I just worry that we maybe do not have the time for him to be learning on the job. Some people rise to pressure and others wither. It goes to the very core of the nature and character in each of us. I have no doubt that Clark would change many things he did in the close season. The proof of the proverbial pudding is in the eating, let's see how it goes. I don't normally bear any malice to our managers as they have all had the same board to work with but I feel Clark was close to immature with his put downs of Ward and players. There were much better ways of putting across the things he did without having to point out certain people.

Wasn't far behind the dugout seemed very subdued . players could of done with some instructions last 20 minutes falling way to deep and we never utilized the extra .. All said and done though, a good 3 points off a good side and some decent play in parts! UTG

His bullish behaviour drew in the supporters thinking this guys just what we want. He then basically started like a damp squib, his mouth got into overdrive and quite rightly people saw through it. He has now responded and knuckled down to sorting himself and the team out. Still not convinced tbh, i didn't like some of his soundbites early on, but i'll support him. He typifies the whole club to be honest, massive PR lessons need to be learned and much of the negativity could be avoided.

For the reasons I posted tbh. I think our home form is actually pretty good dinsdale, and I got to thinking that its not actually as soul destroying as watching us last year was. It led me to actually think about what is better from last year rather than the fact that we are getting some poor results. Every team is going to get beat in this league at some point, and in fairness there are very few that aren't going to cause a meltdown because rightly or wrongly people think we should beat most teams in the Conference. I can see some improvements under Clarke, so thought I'd list them for debate. Im not going to go fanboy on you all and back him fully, but I'm less @tbone about him than I was.

Lol, lots of fair points. The squad on paper is good for this level. We have to sort out the lack of goals and the fact he sets the team up to play a passin game but they just hoof it.
He is really up against it but as you say there are better things then last year.

Yeh he didn't get it right at all last season and I'd be lying if I said I'm not still watered off about that but I think he's probably put a better squad together this season than what we had last season on a much smaller budget . I've only been to our home games so I'm not as angry as some if our away support but from what I've seen so far we've been alright. I didn't think we'd water the league this year, I said mid table and if you'd offered me mid table after 8 games I would have taken it because I thought we'd start really badly , sack DC then pick up after Christmas. I hope that doesn't happen.

We need to start planning our pre seasons better. Target our main players asap if their contracts are running down and give us the best shot at a good season. If DC and Watola had got their acts together in May we would be top five now.

Should it that be could rather than would as we still have to overcome our terrible away form? But DC can only spend what TW gives him, this week being a prime example as it seems AB was only brought in, I assume by NH/TW, after Saturday's shocker, if we'd won bet AB would be still looking for a club.

Anyone else notice that DC just sat in the bench tonight? Didn't seem to get up and shout at all and looked quite a lonely figure sat there. Seemed a little odd and sounded downbeat in interview after. Wonder what has been said or happened? Well Liam we won!!!!!! Snakes alive!!! I suggest a new chant/strategy with DC - "Sit down shut up!. Sit down shut up!"

Kp, can you teach us what an oeuvre is please? It's French-speak for egg, I am certain. I expect KP was suggestng that DC can't make an omelette without breaking a few eggs.
