Let me guess, if Higgs was still in charge, we'd have won that game 5-0??? What position did Higgs play or what part did he play in training tactics or selection Reading posts on this forum by those who had their tongue firmly up his arse, I thought he did everything???

Surely the owners need to splash the cash and sign better players or whats the point of buying us.

But would such player want to play in a crap stadium and port a cabin training facilities when they could go to the likes of Shrewsbury Town with their new but basic stadium and training ground Perhaps Shrewsbury is the model we should be looking at and we forget the delusions of grandeur that abound. I take it you are joking? Why would we want to take Shrewsbury as a model? Go on their forum last season and hear how most of the posters disliked their ground, much preferred the old Gay Meadow. This season obviously they are full of the great start they have made. My point is get the stuff on the pitch right and everything else will look good. I would like to take Shrewsbury as our model only insofar as they are top of the league! Too much panic at the moment I think. Played badly in parts two nights ago but individual players need to step up. Christ 10 days ago we had just had 4 wins. Short memories on here! Don't need to throw the baby out with the bathwater! UTG!

Their lad Nolan would have been one of our best players, and others like Payne, Morris, Godfrey would get in our first XI.

Bryn Morris is exactly the type of leader and defensive midfielder we are lacking. I said back in June we should have tried to sign him - he was out of contract and stalled on signing a new deal. I can't believe they managed to get him on a six month deal on a free back in January. Cracking signing.

As they have signed top players.

I have to admit I thought they'd struggle, they have made 2 or 3 decent signings for sure, but nothing extraordinary for me. To see them sit on top of the table at this stage is surprising for me. I don't think they'll maintain their current form/position, but we'll see - stranger things have happened.

Top half? I dont fancy them much but im not as clued up on league 1 players as you as i only watch rovers, shirehampton and top class football on TV.

Yes, they have started very well. They may well be very good this season and if they are good luck to them. My point was I don't think that they should be necessarily held up to us as a model as a "club." Few of their forum posters like their ground which was my point and most were critical of their board last season. However, any club achieving above their potential and who have obviously made some good signings and who stand top of the league are a good model of a good team as I said originally. I certainly don't envy them as a gashead though. UTG!

Yes they have made some good signings and stand top of the league, so did Bury this time last year. Sorry, that's a cheap point to make. But its just mid September so a long way to go, three points on Tuesday and the whole tone of this thread would have been different. I think Smith was injured on Tuesday and our RB went missing just after our equaliser andit cost us but that's not to take anything from your point that Shrewsbury have made some good signings and as I said originally we can always learn from a team at the top. But as a "model"? UTG!

Jeez! If this is what it's like when we're sitting 12th in the table I dread to think what will be written on here when we're really struggling! We let 3 goals in to a the bottom of the table team who'd scored 7 all season, plus we now have 3 tough looking games up next and so it'll take a minor miracle for us to be still 12th after those games. Keep burying your head in the sand if it makes you feel better. Keep being a miserable sod if it makes you feel better.
Each to his own.
