300 appearances for bristol rovers,no mean feat in the modern era for a gifted and fine professional footballer. At his best chris is the type of player who can leave opponents chasing shadows as his touch and vision is at times breath taking. His surging forward runs at speed are a joy to watch and can cause untold panic in opposition defences. Hes not perfect and sometimes has had issues with character and is not the bravest player physically but in the long run has proved himself to be a fine bristol rovers footballer. I played against his dad several times in local football but sadly he died young and missed his 2nd spell with us but he would be even prouder of his boy had he still been with us.

Another player that split the fan base and there were a number of doubters on his return but imho he has proved himself and gone from strength to strength. As the OP said his running with the ball and level of passing is a delight and as someone who grew up with his father I too am saddened he has missed his sons second coming.

What are you doing up at 2.40 in the morning? I reckon you`ve done a couple of lines yourself.

I think he's been quality for us, we've also been extremely lucky to have had his services. Especially in the conference and league 2, where he's proved to be a stand out player. Long may it last👏

I decent long interview by Linesy on our YouTube channel, interesting even he admits he can't tackle! Apparently the only Rovers player to ever achieve 3 promotions with the club.

Was never his biggest fan during his first spell as I believe he was never at his best as always out on the town.
Since his return he has been outstanding and a joy to be have back.Loves our club and is truely own of our own.
A gas legend and the way he plays he could make it 400/500 for the club one day.

He's clearly a Gas legend. He didn't figure that much in the Trolls promotion but he really broke into the team in league 1 and had to learn his trade at a high level. He was more or less forced out by Buckle but having played in the championship he took a considerable professional risk to come back to us when we were a conference club. He drove us to successive promotions, equally dominant in the run-ins of both seasons and is at his peak now, in my opinion.

Noticed when the players came out for the second half at Northampton all the team used the warmup cones with one exception. Chris got a very odd look from one of the training staff as he ignored the cones. Still has a rebellious streak?
But had a brilliant game!

Touch wood Browner, Leads, Locks OC Sincs and Ellis will soon emulate him in that feat....oh hang on though, then Linesy will have four!!

It probably did Lines the world of good to move away when he did, it settled him down and made him the consummate professional he is now. The club was a poison during the Buckle era and the one that followed and it tool great humility to drop down a level and drag us back up.

For lines to come back was a massive risk for him , the guy is a great servant to this club, I will be forever grateful to him dropping down to the conference when he could of easily stayed where he was or go elsewhere , as at the time the options he had were probably much better. True gashead !!!! Top man linesy.

I was at Filton High with Terry, those kick arounds at lunchtime with a tennis ball on the hockey pitch were legendary. Sadly left us early along with the likes of Colin James. Chris as has been said fell in with the wrong crowd in his first spell at the club, Roadmans Coronagate was an example of him being led by senior players. There was a clear drinking culture amongst the team in those days, muck akin to the Sh*theads in the 90's. I will always remember the Bananarama play-off final, he was clearly struggling late on and was about to be substituted. He stayed on and was part of the victorious penalty shoot out. ONE OF OUR OWN

I don't understand the posters that question his quality. I can understand people questioning his fight, as I have on many occasions but when he is class, he is class.
