Perhaps Wales now know what it is like to have one of their best players missing they have nicked locks for a number of games from us whilst we suffer within us him and other than life cost getting experience by training alongside the likes of bale etc they have not played him once.
there ought to be compensation for teams like us or the fa should postpone all league fixtures over international breaks and not the top 2 divisions.
yes it us good to see our players picked for international squads but not to the detriment of our club after all it should be club before country

It also adds to the players value which is a positive. The good thing from Toms point of view is that he is now part of the squad and should be in consideration for the next major competitions when he will be that much older and more likely to play rather than bench warm

Not a clue what most of this says.

There's quite a lot of us you know. Tom (or Thomas as the announcer called him last night) will grow as a player through the experience, even though he was always unlikely to get on to the field. Ryan Sweeney on the other hand, got 180minutes in Ireland u21's draw with Norway and victory against Israel.

I would say this about any international team including England I have always believed that it should be club before country what I am trying to say is that they know what it is like to be without players being available and that all teams should be included in the international breaks

Nasty and spiteful post, would have liked to have seen Wales and even Scotland make the World Cup Finals and I'm sure Locks, Ellis and BB would be proud to represent their country. Training with an international squad is great experience for Locks as well.

At least if we did not qualify we would not be embarrassed I just cannot see where we are going to get a decent squad of English players from the whole England set up as been awful for a long time now and this starts with the fa (wanting yes men) and sky ploughing too much money into the game meaning that the top clubs spend spend spend on overseas players so we do not have home grown talent coming through the system

Had Wales qualified for the playoffs....and then won that. Bristol Rovers would have a player at the world cup. That does not happen that often ! Bodin and Harrison having outstanding seasons might have seen one of them sneak into the squad as well.

Wales and Scotland won't be humiliated in front of a worldwide audience next summer. Lucky buggers.

With a genetic and geographic foot in both camps, I want both to do well and can't stand the xenophobia.

A bit ironic considering your avatar I do not see why the international break should not apply to all four leagues and then clubs mutually agree if they want to play. Clubs will know if they have players who could potentially represent their country and agree to play if two teams wish to and bring forward a match which is scheduled for later. No need then to reschedule games at all. I can't see a downside provided clubs give enough notice that they both want to bring a game forward.

If your English your English every other country are aloud to take the water out of us
