I am fully aware of that but the prem started last weekend and a lot of other teams this weekend just hope we follow what others have done Why start 2 weeks early? 11th is the date, save it for then. It's like xmas,it gets dragged out so much that it loses it's relevance come the actual dayy.

I am fully aware of that but the prem started last weekend and a lot of other teams this weekend just hope we follow what others have done Why start 2 weeks early? 11th is the date, save it for then. It's like xmas,it gets dragged out so much that it loses it's relevance come the actual dayy. Xmas can never be compared to remembrance day. Remembrance is the act of remembering those brave men and women who have died in armed conflict for this largely unappreciative union, it's also to remember those families who lost, poppies raise money for service men/woman and their families who suffer and still suffer hardship just because not many of those from the world wars are not around now doesn't mean, we should only wear a poppy with pride for one day a year, if you don't want to wear a poppy don't but please don't say it's losing it's relevance because people wear them for a few weeks before, In fact i know a few serving service men and many non serving who feel a sense of pride when seeing people wear poppies as it is a visual indicator that strangers do care and to many that is enough to get them through tough times. Xmas on the other-hand is a kidnapped religious festival whose sole purpose is an exercise in oh look i have more money than you, spose it just a massive cock waving festival look at me i've got my 3y/o an ipad etc, many sheep getting into debt by taking loans to cover presents just so they can look good in front of the neighbours an their own kids, just so they can pretend to be someone they are not,(tis no wonder people grow up and think debt is a cool fashion accessory). Then feel good because it's so called time for family, keep kidding yourselves that it anything other than a way to buy smiles from your kids, still i spose your religion is to worship at the alter of asdas etc. If anyone's offended by this post i don't give a fook, maybe its time to look inwards into the greedy selfish life you lead where you buy affection from others

People telling others to wear a poppy. This has been on the forum b4, I think annually, so I'm not taking it any further.

So why post such a comment in the first place. Either support the poppy campaign or don't, your choice, everybody's choice. Freedom of choice, we after all live in a rich democracy. The club will respect tradition as will the bulk of the supporters. But really, Poppy facism?

All I was getting at is the fact that the more you drag things out, the less impact it seems when it is the actual day. You have rememberance day and rememberance Sunday. If you start having 2 or 3 weeks for it then it makes that day less special.

Re the avatar Rod....which one is that if you don’t mind me asking? HMS Hardy, pennant number R08 (interestingly the same number as the new HMS Elizabeth Carrier), which was sunk whilst on Arctic Convoy duty in January 1944. My father was on board - fortunately survivors were rescued by another destroyer - else I wouldn't be here!
