KP if we are drip feeding payments I can't see there two sides to the story, it seems we have cash flow problems and there's no issue with the actual work carried out or we wouldn't be making any payments at all? What's surprising is this is still dragging on since before the UWE announcement if we could afford £40K for a fence etc I think we can stop dreaming now of us ever spending £m's. I guess we enjoyed the ride for as long as it lasted! I fully agree @topper Gas but I’m just playing devil’s advocate for one moment. What you write is spot on & it’s now the perfect time for the owners/Dwane to fess up, to use the colloquial & be down with da youf innit. In all seriousness, I find it deeply troubling. I try very hard not to generalise but when I was a mere labourer on my jobbing builder elder brothers, we would ALWAYS ask for at least 60% of the money upfront when we worked for Arabic or Asian people. I guess i’ll get pulled up on racism here but we had enough of always arguing come pay up time. Come on SH & WAQ, over to you to clarify WTH is going on PLEASE Devils advocate my ass.

How would you feel if you were owed the best part of 40K with employees to pay ? You REALLY wonder why post, honestly ? You would be furious, worried, unsure & maybe worrying if your business can take the hit and carry on but not necessarily in that order. This is exactly the place to air it rather than the media. I think the contractor is showing incredible restraint personally and that the poster is just clearing up what is truth and what is unsubstantiated rumour is All. To most of us a 40k debt would probably see us homeless. If you have time then read swissgas post over on gasheads. That will then fill in many of the missing parts. This isn’t a small claims court issue, it’s a serious amount for the regular Joe, that go to games. Put yourself in the contractors shoes for one brief moment, take it in and how that amount would affect you and I believe you’ll have your answer 40k? You honestly think if the job was well done, to standard, and what we agreed on, Waq couldn't pull £40k out of his back pocket? Keep grabbing on to the anti board strings being fed to you. Just for everyone to know, I am not anti board and I have had some really good exchanges with WAQ via the DM feature of Twitter. I just don’t get why the lack of taking the opportunity to put their side of the story but then, my guess is it would be put on to Dwane but both are owned and run by the family so one bleeds into the other. You really have got the wrong end of the proverbial stick here. Why would the club allow such a potentially damaging issue to go on and not make an effort to at least give their side of this unfortunate issue ? Personally I find Wael to be very funny & someone who answers questions but not about this

Sounds like an all too familiar load of sh** stirring crap to me. Why any Rovers fan would actually go to the trouble of posting this is beyond me. Yeah I mean I couldn’t give a sh** really it’s got nothing to do with us as supporters.. Seems more and more these days fans want to know the ins and outs of a cats arse when it comes to their football club. Call me old fashioned but for me it’s about what happens on the pitch and all the other rumours will come out in the wash soon or later.

But if we're drip feeding them payments how can there be a dispute? Plus what the hell can we dispute over an agreed tender for a fence etc, it's not like they've built a clubhouse and it's not been built to spec.

But, surely you must see one goes hand in hand with the other, no ? How do we pay for players ( DWANE) same company. We have a charge of TEN MILLION against our only asset by Dwane. Anyway, I can already see this is a contentious issue so, in the words of Dragons Den, I’m out.

Fair play for posting this & please say a big thank you from me at least. Loyalty is a very scarce thing nowadays and to show such loyalty when being treated so shabbily is showing the contractor in the best light possible. 40K is not a small amount and employees need paying. It makes me feel the Dwane come across as a rogue trader here. As always there are 2 sides to any story so it would be the right thing to do for the club to now address this very public detail plus the rumours of other people waiting to be paid. It paints & tarnishes the club as both skinflints & people others would avoid to now do business with over to you Steve Hamer & Wael. You have your chance to put your side of this saga. Do the right thing please Fair play? Name me one good thing that posting that has done? Cleared up the rumours into fact. Then again, many really don’t like truth and will continue to wear their blinkers. I could go into a long and detailed post here but I can see it’s not worth my time or effort.

I would love to hear from Wael about this but if there is a threat of taking legal action, he is not going to be able to say too much anyway (just like he did during the post UWE interview).
BS5 - is your name a reference to the post code? I grew up in St George so wondered if we may have crossed paths before.

Just because we are making payments, still doesn't mean the club are necessarily happy about it.
I am sure it could be paid easily enough if they wanted to
It's not like we are hearing about players and staff not being paid, or the tax man, or the electric etc

I guess its whether payment in full was agreed to be made upon completion or whether a schedule of payments was agreed and what constitutes completion as it sounds as if further work has been carried out. Also what was agreed as the scope of work to be completed within the £40k and whether that full scope was delivered. None of it makes sense as £40k, whilst sizeable to most of us is small beer to a multimillion pound business/professional football club

Maybe we are waiting for investors to come forward to support said fence.
I think that despite this not proving any of the other rumours right, it doesn't leave me with a great deal of expectancy with regards to any other build.

It ain’t cleared anything up for me, and judging by comments on here not for others either. Need both sides of the story and this is only one side of it. I do agree with you though that WAQ et al need to put their side of the story/argument/issue.

We are f**k f**k fuckity f**ked, big time. So f**ked that this incident is largely irrelevant (except to the fencers, of course). And if we can afford to pay it, then no worries, and this whole dispute is really none of our business.
