Just listened to the interview. I think DC is doing it to give the board a kick up the arse to get on with the off the pitch stuff. You can hear he is frustrated and I think that is great. He will be pushing the board as hard as he can for progress.
Not worrying about the doomsday scenarios until we have something concrete to worry about!

Was trying to remain calm but DC had confirmed our fears! Over to you wael! This is mightily depressing! Then again we’ve followed the club so far so what’s more years with rubbish facilities etc

Perhaps the "negativity" comments DC was alluding to recently was not aimed at a few fans on Internet Forum Sites and why should it? He knows the majority of fans are still on his side at the moment despite disappointing results of late. Is DC playing politics by echoing what appears to be the view of the majority and coming down not too discreetly on the side of the fans and how they are feeling at the moment wrt to the owners.
Maybe Steve Hamer is also hitting a brick wall - although if he had made the comments DC has made of late he could well of been picking up his P45 with no one from the fan base being the slightest bit bothered - DC making them is a different 'ball game' for them to handle. Hopefully it may stimulate them into making some form of statement - but I'm not holding my breath - another big match tomorrow which may form a barometer of how things are in more ways than one!!

This 30 yrs behind comment is nonsense. That would put us in 1987, no internet, no GPS vests, things like sports psychology were not taken as seriously, etc. Its a silly exagerated comment

No, just a coincidence. I actually bothered to look up what was number one exactly thirty years ago.

For weeks he has come across frustrated in interviews. He then does an interview and says he is frustrated and the whole forum goes into further meltdown?
Does this actually tell us anything new?
In fact I thought it was an alright interview, he stated that people were working hard but obviously no date has been set and it's gone a bit stagnant.

I think you will find that 30 years ago clubs were starting to install all seater stadia and/or building new stadiums. That continental influences on diet and training and tactics were starting to influence clubs. Rovers were happy to be in existence ,training from portakabins ,playing at a non league stadium (all be it a good one for the level Bath city play at) and making the best of what they could get. When you look at the number of lower level clubs that either moved to new stadia or made their current one all seater you realise how little has changed at Rovers since arriving at the Mem.
If you look just in this quarter of the uk...
Forest green- new stadium Yeovil Town - new stadium Cardiff city - new stadium Swansea city - new stadium Southampton - new stadium AFC Bournemouth - new stadium Plymouth argyle - rebuilt stadium Bristol city - rebuilt stadium Portsmouth - made all seater Swindon Town - made all seater Newport county - shared new stadium Cheltenham town - rebuilt stands. Exeter city - rebuilt stands Eastleigh - built new stands Clevedon Town - new stadium W-S-M - New stadium
Bristol rovers - put up two tents.

I feel sorry for all those season ticket holders, who were sold a lemon. If they knew what they know now, would they have definitely renewed? In fact, would DC have signed a 5 year contract!! Yes. I've known far worse than this.

so the latest BEP piece about a defensive coach, doesn't quite fit the rhetoric does it That was also mentioned in the Having a Gas interview, I think DC's comments are lifted word for word from that interview, you have to ask why the two people he approached turned him down, our dodgy infrastructure or better offers elsewhere, although paying £50K/100K for a coach is not the millions now needed to take us forward.

We dont know who was approached, what they were offered, did they have to move, were they already in job et etc But thats ok, lets just assume the worst

I don't think we will move forward without a defensive coach.
