This 30 yrs behind comment is nonsense. That would put us in 1987, no internet, no GPS vests, things like sports psychology were not taken as seriously, etc. Its a silly exagerated comment Several clubs had better facilities 30 years ago than we have now is my take on that.

That was also mentioned in the Having a Gas interview, I think DC's comments are lifted word for word from that interview, you have to ask why the two people he approached turned him down, our dodgy infrastructure or better offers elsewhere, although paying £50K/100K for a coach is not the millions now needed to take us forward. We dont know who was approached, what they were offered, did they have to move, were they already in job et etc But thats ok, lets just assume the worst Hence why I also said better offers elsewhere, if they decided they sooner stay in their present job they must have considered for them our offer was no better. Let's face facts recruitment this summer was poor all round but let's just bury our head in the sand and believe in the ALQ's.

DC asked for Nichols and WAQ paid for him. I guess you can only cut your cloth..... Well clearly the owners have to set an acceptable budget. DC wasted it on Nichols.

Let's face facts recruitment this summer was poor all round but let's just bury our head in the sand and believe in the ALQ's. I think recruitment was alright in terms of the players we brought in. The keepers are both ok for this level we all wanted Sweeney back but he hasn’t been as good as last year , Sercombe is a good player and Nichols is ok I think he’ll het better over time with us. Broadbent and Mayo have probably been our best two center halfs this seasonand they’ve cost us next to nothing ( I hope they start tomorrow)and bola looks a decent loan signing he’s been our man of the match in half the games he’s played. My only complaints are lack of wingers and we could do with a central defensive midfielder and we have lost some of our more experienced leaders in the transition that we’re going through but we might address that in January. People have been saying D.C. can’t find good players ever since he joined us but we’ve improved season on season and this ones not even half way yet. Reading your post (the one I’m replying too ) it sounds like things either have to be all doom and gloom or massively upbeat and a Rose tinter burying heads in the sand etc but I don’t see it as either. Things aren’t great on the pitch or off it but this is Bristol Rovers. We’re doing ok we’ve got a fantastic manager who’s given us success an owner who wants to do well and a squad that are honest and hard working. It could be worse , it was much worse for so long.

DC won't be going to Sunderland as Chris Colman has got the job.

I am really concerned that we may now lose DC, other clubs will realise he is ambitious and unable to deliver his job with ******** **** training facilities here in Bristol, with a owner who for whatever reason will not stick his hand in his pocket, and come in and making him a better offer, and who can blame DC, I certainly wouldn't.
