We have to stop eulogising DC!!! With such a dramatic change in results (Northampton wasn't so long ago) something is dramatically wrong. Maybe- and this is my big worry- he's temporarily lost the dressing room. Why not bring Pulis in from now to the January transfer window to advise DC on recruitment and hopefully steady the ship playing-wise. If only..... OK, so we ring TP's agent and offer him a 6 months contract to keep us in Div 1, do we offer him £1m for 6 months work or match the £2m p.a. he was apparently getting at WBA and can probably get elsewhere? sportsmaza.com/money/english-premier-league-managers-salary/#getagrip But the ALQs have no money and want out

On the subject of Tony Pulis, I've always thought he's had an uncanny resemblance to Roland Rat. Can't argue with that!

Can we lock this yet? I appreciate the irony of me contributing to this but does this really need five pages?

I wish people would get real! We have a manager, even if we didn't Pulis is miles out of our range! And I wish people would wake up and get real about the dire sh**e we are in at the moment that can only get worse before it gets any better I also wish people would wake up and get real and remember who we are and stop living in dreamland thinking that premiership and championship quality managers would ever actually consider dropping down the leagues to manage us!

Martin Samuel in the Mail:
So what kind of manager do West Brom need to succeed Tony Pulis? Someone with experience of Premier League relegation struggles, obviously. A manager with a track record of successful firefighting, who will organise a team of limited talents and hold his nerve under pressure — not one who will see the way out as a £100million January spending spree. They need a pragmatist, a coach who will not place aesthetics or his personal reputation above the immediate needs of the club; someone who will not care what the critics think, and if that means winning ugly or scrapping for a point, then so be it. The fans may be willing to sacrifice elite division status for a more open, entertaining style, but no owner agrees. Right now, West Brom need a manager who will dig in and drill his players to do the same. And there is the dilemma for owner Guochuan Lai: the ideal man to replace Tony Pulis would appear to be Tony Pulis. If they hadn't just sacked him, he would be a cert for the job.

Apparently there are those who bask in success but when things go wrong, believe a torrent of puerile, simplistic abuse is the answer.

Dwane Sports can lend us the money, all part of the evolution Thought you were one of the people saying they didn't have any money?? Haven't said anything along those lines. I've no idea how much or how little they have, I've merely pointed out they have provided a £10m revolving credit facility secured against the football clubs major asset. Secured for reasons unknown

West Bromwich Albion , careful what you wish for, Charlton Athletic ring any bells let's see . Irrelevant. Stoke City did better after he left and the same sh**e as you posted here was banded about when they sacked him. Pulis is an effective manager but as boring as it’s possible to be. Rather have DC any day.

Yeah lineker joked on Saturday that if they sack him then they should get Tony Pulis in because he always gets clubs out of trouble. Can’t believe they did it so soon. Results haven’t been good but sacking him now is a bigger gamble than keeping him in my opinion just the same as our situation.
