Could anyone say who should be sold and who and what positions are needed...
Personally I would sell Lockyer/Moore/burn
Bring in central defender/left midfielder/centre forward

Don't see the point in selling Lockyer. Yes he hasn't been great this season, but the lad clearly has potential.

Selling Moore and Burn would be near on impossible. I doubt if we'll be able to give them away.
I wouldnt be too fussed if we got good money for Lockyer, never really rated him that highly and imo Broadbent is a better player.

Broadbent is a left footed CH, Lockyer a right footed CB, if we let TL go we'll have to find a new CB who can slip strieght into the side, just as our defence as started to find last season's form.

I'd like ta defend Tommy Locks who seems to come in fur loads a criticsm. IMO th lad (if allowed) will go onta be a true gas legend amongst th Andy Tilson's, Stuart Taylors. Of course he will alwaes have bad spells (who dont?) but Tom is a proper Club Man who could spend his whole career here. An if DC makes him captain an first name on th team sheet evry week that should tell you all you need ta knowabout th lad. An imo still plenty ta come.
Mon' th Lockyer!!!

Load of rubbish this different playing feet players at centre back...at the highest level centre back pairings that both play right footed successfully...so in league one I’m sure it will be fine

Menayese. The games he's played, alongside Broadbent we have looked solid, kept clean sheets and looked a better defensive unit. I'm not slagging Lockyer off, I just dont rate him as highly as others. If we can get good money for him then I wouldn't be too fussed.

I’d release/sell Moore, Burn, Telford and Bodin only for the right money. Loan Broom out.
Then get a right midfielder, left midfielder, either sided midfielder from our level or league 2 and a on the shoulder pacey poachy striker type with goals in him from a lower league. All with “potential” or experience and nothing in between. In other words no Byron Moore’s.
Gonna be a hard window!

Yesterday should have reminded everyone what Tom Lockyer brings to a team. The bloke was practically knocked out yet his first instinct was to try to get to his feet and hold the back line together to stop a secondary attack despite being visibly woozy. He has more grit, passion and determination to do his best for the team than any other player in our squad. You can't simply replace that. He's had a tough run of form (who apart from Ellis hasn't this season) but he is well on his way to being a proper Rovers Legend in my opinion. One of my favourite players at the club.

You can't knock his endeavor or his passion for the club. Just like The beard. That said, if we received a good offer for Lockyer, likewise The Beard, I wouldn't be too fussed if he(They) went. Lockyer has been part of one of the worst defences in League One the last 2 seasons, it's not just down too him obviously, but imo he isn't that good a defender. For me Broadbent and Menayese have looked a lot more solid as a pairing, briefly, granted.

Lockyer has been and continues to be a quality player for us and a model pro. As a club we have invested so much into his development and he has given us a great deal back. I would be gutted if we lost him, more so than any other player we have.

Watching the fitness test before Monday's game I'm prepared for the quote 'Having James back is like adding a new player to the squad'. So that's one 'signing'.

I would be gutted if we lost him, more so than any other player we have. He was a good Conference Defender. He was a decent League 2 Defender. But for me he has been a bang average League 1 Defender so far in the 18 months or so he's played at this level. He is only 23, and already played over 200 games for the club which is brilliant, but if we were to get a bid of 500k+ for him which is what I mean by good money, then I think we should bite whichever club it was hands off

Don't see the point in selling Lockyer. Yes he hasn't been great this season, but the lad clearly has potential. Exactly, I can't believe some of our fans want us to sell a young leader who's already made a senior appearance for his country.

I could say that would be a waste of time ask dc but at the moment after all the bashing a I have had trying to show some sense on here I am prepared to wait until the end of Jan when the majority of people on here are convinced that pud fortunes on the pitch will change for the better, saying that cracking win against Pompey and 2 useful away points i wait to be proved wrong but don't think so somehow

Exactly, I can't believe some of our fans want us to sell a young leader who's already made a senior appearance for his country. Would you really class Tom Lockyer as a leader? I would say he's anything but. He's been made captain, but with him as captain we've had one of the worst defences in the division at this level over the last 18 months. Also him being capped by Wales say's more about the lack of players available to them than anything else, not about Lockyers form. Yes he's only 23 and he's racked up over 200 games which is superb, and he's got time on his side to improve, but I just dont think he is as good as people are making out. I haven't said I wanted us to sell him per se, but if we were to get a good offer for him, 500k+ then I reckon that would be too good for us to turn down.
