DC is notoriously a late participator and i find this very frustrating but being honest i don't hold out a great deal of hope after the poor summer of signings either with DC or the owners. Its going to be a long season in less we make at least 3-4 signings. for me our club do not have much in the way of connections at this level and in that context we are very No0n League. Yes he ran out of time in the summer and the longer you leave it in the sales the less bargains there are available.

Not sure why, you get better value for money in Lidl! Some really good stuff available and also some crap ...you have to know the best products available to buy well. Agree. Same could be said for Tesco too though, it's just dearer.

Well here we are a week into the transfer window and not a sniff of anything happening other than selling our best players surely DC had in mind before the window opened who he wanted to sign don't leave it until the last few hours please give us some hope Patience dear boy. Darrell's done a pretty good job in every January window so far and there are still 23 days to go.

I reckon most business by all clubs takes place later in the window, moves lead to other moves, more players realise they need to move on, players won't rush into the first deal offered etc. Like everyone I'd love us to do business as early as possible but by far the most important thing is to make sure we get the right people in. Where in this particular thread have I said d c out in fact this is a positive d c thread for me

I reckon the lad Kendai Benyu is a decent signing for Oldham. The 20-year-old Zimbabwe international winger played 22 times for Aldershot on loan from Ipswich last season and scored 5 goals in an impressive spell. He has made 4 appearances for Celtic this season.

21-year-old former England U20 defensive midfielder Cameron Brannagan is set to complete a permanent move to Oxford from Liverpool. The youngster has made 9 first team appearances for Liverpool and played 14 times last season for Fleetwood.

If it's Hamer who makes the enquiries with the clubs and agents then much is explained as to why we are slow out the blocks...but who is DC on the phone to when he says it's going to be a busy two week? Is he talking to himself? Surely he must be talking to agents or clubs about players or why bother to give him a phone?

There is no reason he why he would deliberately leave it late is there? If we had the financial clout to blow any competition out of the water deals would get done very quickly. The wages I heard Bury were throwing around might explain how they managed to get so many deals done early in the last window - not that it worked mind !! Some on here have criticised DC for his recruitment record. The way I see it is he has to take gambles, either following a gut instinct that some from non-league can step up or that he can transform a failure from another league club. He will know who the best players in league 1 & 2 are but does not have the budget to get them.

Transfers are always gambles look at sir Alex, bought plenty of duds, Mourinho let De bruyne and Salah leave which are crucial mistakes. We signed Nichols posh signed Marriott but they also have failed with a few themselves. Still hopeful Nichols will come good. I would be going for JET and going to get slated again, but I’d give Nile Ranger a pay for play deal. Graham Carey and sonny Bradley at plymuff.

Players proven at a certain level are less of a gamble than someone jumping a couple of divisions or those having failed to prosper at their previous clubs but they are priced accordingly. I agree with Carey (superb player at this level) and Bradley but no way would I want Nile Ranger, when I've seen him in recent years he hasn't been that impressive and trouble follows him everywhere. Bad apple was invented for him. I would be worried about JET desire, his ability to fit in with our lads and his wage demands

Saw DC last night, driving out of Tesco's carpark in the direction of Lidl's, with a worried expression. Just saw him going into Poundland even more worrying! now seen pulling out of the carpark with an empty basket. Seen heading for Waitrose.

Apparently Luton offered Plymouth 400k with add ons for centre back Sonny Bradley in the summer and could be back in for him again.
