Left Backs from Millwall are always sh*t. Robbie Ryan anyone? There was a reason why he was free on “football manager” on PlayStation 😂 I think that was the reason we signed him wasn't it? Didn't John Still's son spot him on the game as a free agent and tipped his dad off, or something along those lines.

He is to blame web.archive.org/web/20071008083950/http://www.championshipmanager.co.uk/shownews.php?id=84Didnt get on with Atkins from day 1....shocker!

Would be a good signing, 2 or 3 good seasons left in him. Despite our current good form we are still crying out for a bit of experience. If he is a straight replacement for Burn then he makes our squad stronger. Burn and Sweeney will not be squad members next season. Im not sure how people think our central defence could be so good Rovers can afford to be two players shorter in that department next season ! Locks off playing for Wales first team squad and Rollin in the u21s .....leaves Tom B and Clarkey (if he is still here next season) and Partington as centreback options...give one of those a knock and one in bad form and not looking so wonderful at the back suddenly ! The squad needs 2 centrebacks joining over the next 6 months at least. Having one of those as an experienced pro would seem helpful for the squad.

Don’t know if he is the right signing. At his age and with his experience he would expect to play and at the moment any signing coming in would expect to play and I’m not sure he would. CH is the one area where we are well off at the moment, although as you say with Burn and Sweeney gone it might not be like that next season. If he’s just joining the squad he might not fancy that. But tbh it’s all rumour and supposition atm isn’t it? Perhaps he’ll be one of those who comes in and has a great two years and only time will tell. UTG!

The fact he can play left CB and LB, I'd say he would be ideal. If it is him coming in I think he'll play straight away at LB v Shrews - Bola and Brown would struggle IMO.
I get the feeling DC has been disappointed with many of his loans this and last season - hence his determination to get permanent signings in now. Craig played almost every game last season to help 'Wall to promotion.

It's fun how it's gone from "FFS Darrell sign someone!" to "Nooo not him!"

Sounds like a done deal. Welcome Tone. Harry Toffolo has completed a move to Millwall which allows Craig to move here.

Mmm, okay as a bench warmer but can't see him starting too many games. I wasn't overly impressed with him if I'm honest when we lost 4-3 to Millwall back in May.
I know he's played left back as well as in the centre of defence and it's useful to have players that can play in different positions. However, he turns 33 in a couple of months and isn't the quickest so I don't see him as first choice; not for full back or centre back.
Decent player to have as backup I suppose but I was hoping the sigings we made this month would improve the starting 11. If it does turn out to be Craig I think he'll be warming the bench with Mensah. One a little raw but a hot prospect for the future, the other past his best but good experience to have in reserve.

"What we need this transfer window is experienced players at this level, not young kids..."
Sign a fella with bundles of experience at L1 and above.
"Bloody hell, what we doing signing old players who are no better than what we have?!"
Can. Not. Win.

Like this as a signing, we've got a young squad and all of the defenders have gone through patches where they've looked poor this season so adding an experienced head that's captained a side out of this division makes a lot of sense. Hopefully will be a big figure in the changing rooms too, sort of a league one answer to when we had McCrystal.

"Bloody hell, what we doing signing old players who are no better than what we have?!" Can. Not. Win. Ideally you want someone between 25 and 30. Players that have experience but are still in their prime and can come straight into your starting 11 and improve the team. Not easy to sign though and often expensive. Happy with Mensah as given time he will hopefully turn out to be a great signing. Certainly popular in Aldershot. Less excited about Craig because I don't see him improving our starting 11 now or in the future. However, like I said, he'll be good experienced backup to have in reserve so I'm not against it.

Certainly not a get you off the edge of your seat with excitement signing but would bring some useful experience to a young squad and knows what it takes to get out of this league.
Would be an astute signing if it was to happen.

A bit of a Liam Lawrence type signing this. Has recent experience of being promoted out of this league and has played plenty of games in the division above. I trust DC's judgement as these types of signings usually have a more intangible benefit to the squad.
Also don't rule out another signing at the same time as DC is chasing two targets.

Really can't see the issue with this signing ? We've been crying out for experience all season due to constant mistakes at the back , we are now seen to be on the verge of signing someone with experience in abundance and people are unhappy or questioning why were signing him. If this signing does happen on a permanent , I think it will be a very good solid piece of recruitment.

Weren't people p*ssed off when we signed Mark McChrystal too?
I seem to remember Scunthorpe fans laughing at us too.
Trust in DC, he's ain't done too bad of a job since joining...
Don't forget, it was also Lockyer that really shone when he had experience next to him

I seem to remember they produced a double shirt graphic when we signed Smith and Slocombe at the same time in the summer so perhaps that might be dusted off again.
