Any ideas ? I was thinking perhaps putting Greyhound track around pitch and bringing racing back, could earn a few bob with bar takings food etc.

How about some nice raised flower beds and a Tesco store in the corner of the away end?

If we were struggling for cash we could sell the mem to the greyhound company and lease it back

Well take the p*ss all you like but if we owned it we could generate some serious cash on a regular basis. The site is short on space already, without putting a greyhound track around it. Although I enjoyed a few nights out at the dogs at Eastville, nobody is interested in that kind of thing anymore. As long as we have a good bar/function facilities with possibly a space for corporate events, then I think that'll be the best that we can hope for.

We should do a deal with English Heritage and sell tickets for tourists to visit the Mem.

Any ideas ? I was thinking perhaps putting Greyhound track around pitch and bringing racing back, could earn a few bob with bar takings food etc. Not for me, that would mean the stands would be further away from the pitch which would affect the spectator experience and atmosphere, also space is at a premium on the site so we need the stadium to be quite compact imo. I think the plan is for it to be a community stadium so it could include these sorts of facilities, all of which could raise revenue for the club when the stadium is not use on a match day: - Conference rooms / meeting rooms - Gymnasium / Fitness Studio - Business centre - Library / IT hub - Climbing centre - Small business units for short term rent by tech start up companies - Retail units (shops / restaurants / bar ) coffee shop) - Bike rental / repair centre - Hair / beauty salon There's also the possibility that it could incorporate housing or student accommodation and a hotel which were previously included with the last development proposal that secured planning consent. I think there is a huge amount of potential with this project given its location and a lot of the items listed above would benefit the local community which would really help gain support during the planning process, it could be a win win situation imo.

I agree with what you say regarding Community Stadium etc but atmosphere at Eastville was not affected by the track and we would not need one as wide as that one as it was also used for Speedway.

Profit from improving the current playing surface by turning the pitch over to potato farming. Our lads are always at their best when the chips are down

Why not build a cycling track around the outside of the pitch?

Having accommodation in a football stadium makes me cringe, a Hotel yes but not accommodation. Just my opinion though ππ»

How about they open pasty huts that are capable of serving more than 2 people every 10 minutes.

Sod paying the groundsmen to fork it when itβs been raining cats and dogs, instead get young javelin athletes to pay to use the pitch for practice sessions! π Our owners just need to think outside of the box, unlike Nichols who needs to think inside the box, outside of the box, or just even find the bloody box!

Just my opinion though ππ» I know, I wouldn't want to live in one but there are other stadium redevelopments where it has been done so it would be feasible and student accommodation was very much part of the last mem redevelopment proposals that got planning approval.

Corner flag sponsors, selling umbrellas, rain coats, brfc ponchos etc in the open ends in the rain, selling them at the gates when raining on way home, selling caps and sunglasses in the summer on the terraces and at the gates, actively selling scarves, hats, fleeces and coats in winter etc etc etc - itβs not just our ground thatβs tinpot! We are so lazy as a club! Bare minimum!

It's probably madness but why don't we just build a football stadium, forget hotels and fitness centres just build something which can be used for football with a conference suite etc. We seem to have spent decades trying to build something with non football facilities but they've never really even got close to them leaving the drawing board.
