Have they not done that? Colony useable by July 19. Redevelop the stadium in a piecemeal fashion. What else is there? Yes I suppose they have in a way but it’s always struck me that these comments were reacting to 20man or someone else asking a question and have been so piecemeal and patchy. I don’t think other businesses would have got away with some statements in reaction to questions passing for some kind of plan or vision for the future. They haven’t been very proactive in presenting a case and a vision for us. Im not unhappy with our “evolution”, the development squad, increase in support staff, the transfer windows, mid -table in League 1 are all things I wouldn’t have dreamed of 3 years ago. I just think some forward thinking in sharing with us the plan B after the UWE went wrong would have been an easy win for them and would have taken us fans with them and would have given them some breathing time. Without that they left space, a vacuum for others to make suppositions and rumours. Could have been avoided imo. UTG! When I have heard Wael be cornered on issues like the stadium or the Colony site he has the same approach to answering. That is he is very reluctant to give time scales or finalised ideas. The way he puts this forward is because he does not want to say things that might not happen exactly as he has said. Maybe this is a cultural thing or a business thing or a family thing . Or it may be that they have learned from looking at the clubs history the great disappointment that fans get when grand plans are put forward that are not achieved. Stoke Gifford stadium ,Carson road stadium ,Severnside shared stadium with City , easter Compton stadium ,new north stand ,new student accom incorporated Mem rebuild ,UWE stadium.
That's a lot of BS that's been fed the fans over the years. Maybe they have decided its time that BS stopped (?)
Tell us when something is actually going to be delivered and not some smokescreen fabricated BS the club have fed fans in the past.
So as far as I am concerned until the green light on all aspects of their plans are lit up there will be no public announcements.

Genuine question Why do we need to know ?
Because the fans who pay their hard-earned wages over decades to support the club, both financially and vocally, have a legitimate claim to be told what the future of their club might be. If they have a genuine plan to redevelop the stadium, then we should be told about it, because without the fans, there would be no club. The only reasons for the silence that I can see are that they have no plans at all, and are scared to tell us, or they have a super-confidential masterplan tied up in non-disclosure agreements. I don't know which is more likely. I can understand the sentiments. I would add that those who contributed to the share scheme and therefore the SC owning a % of the club may have a claim to knowing what the plans are. This might obviously include having to sign a confidentiality clause to see them.
Would fans prefer to hear some grand plan and see pretty pictures of things that we are told will happen...and then they don't. Or not be told about things until things are signed and sealed and definitely going to happen. ? Rovers fans have been served up plenty of the former over the decades and very very little of the latter.

That may be your opinion but: It does not matter what the owners or Board say some people interpret and twist as they wish so maybe the Board has learned it is better to say not a lot and just get on with their lives and doing their job. You may not like that but in my view, they are very wise - you will find out in due course what they are and have been doing. It may surprise you to know that there are people within the Football Club support and staff who know what is going on but who work with the owners rather than always picking fault.

I don’t think other businesses would have got away with some statements in reaction to questions passing for some kind of plan or vision for the future. I don't think that's true. Most other businesses don't have people hanging on their every word demanding updates every other week, and then dismissing any news as distractions for the real news. eg. Sainsbury's mission statement is, "To be the consumer's first choice for food, delivering products of outstanding quality and great service at a competitive cost through working 'faster, simpler and together." It's complete gibberish and essentially meaningless, but the posters of Sainsburyschat.co.uk don't sit over their computers demanding to know all the ins and outs of every plan they have going, and wondering why they haven't been updated every week, or coming up with strange conspiracy theories on why no progress is being made. Football is like no other business you are correct. But I just feel that a bit of thought and a statement at the time would have been a winner. Everything seems to be forced out of them, not proactive as I’ve said. And that’s not being critical because I’m not too unhappy with their ideas of “evolution.” Just a missed opportunity to gain some slack imo. UTG!

You are right about him learning from our history of disappointment. And I don’t want anything detailed, just a statement coming from the club, not drawn out of them on a radio programme and not a late night panic due to someone letting the cat out of the bag. But like you I am not expecting any announcements now until there is something to announce but I am hopeful that we may get an inkling about what they are intending. But I won’t hold my breath. UTG!

Last time they volunteered some info we got days of constant, 'they only said that to distract us from Bodin leaving.'

What we do know is planning permission was granted for an 18,000 stadium with a shop, gym, hotel, bars, conference rooms and 100 accommodation rooms (?) even after some people put in objections. So a precedent has been set. Also comparrisons to the positioning of a 27000 stadium with a 10,000 stand to local housing and flats and businesses will help dispel some fake objections.
