With Rochdale playing spurs next Sunday it might work out great for us I'm sure the Dale won't be over doing it against us next Tuesday ? If we are relying on Rochdale to field a weakened team so that we can beat them, then we might as well pack it in now! They are a poor side and they are down near the foot of the table for a reason, let’s not worry about them eh? Let’s just concentrate on ourselves and give them a damn good rogering! UTG

FA Cup: Tottenham's Mauricio Pochettino says Rochdale pitch is a 'massive risk' to players By Matthew Henry
BBC Sport
26 minutes ago From the sectionFA Cup Share this page Rochdale pitch The Spotland Stadium pitch was heavily-sanded before the tie against Millwall to ensure the game could go ahead. Rochdale's pitch is a "massive risk" to players and the Football Association must "take a decision" before Tottenham visit in the FA Cup next weekend, says Spurs manager Mauricio Pochettino.
Rochdale beat Millwall on Tuesday to set up a fifth-round tie with Spurs but the surface was heavily criticised.
"It is not a pitch in a condition to play football," Pochettino said.
However, BBC Sport understands the fixture is unlikely to be moved from Rochdale's home Spotland.
The Mem will be like Wembley then!!!!

I'm not that bothered about Pancake Day as long as Rochdale are well-beaten.

Rochdale. Tuesday night. Let me guess. Freezing cold, chance of a sleety snowey rainy kind of an evening making us all wonder why we gave up a warm house in front of the telly.
Ah the Gas.

Have to admit I’ve always liked Rochdale, they’ve seemed to have achieved against all the odds. Them and Hartlepool were the joke in the 60s about needing to play well or you’ll end up playing ..... Had to laugh this week when the Millwall manager called the 100 Rochdale fans disgraceful for running on the pitch and apparently threatening his players and then the Millwall fans. Don’t know if they did it but the idea of a Millwall manager moaning about someone else’s fans being idiots just struck me as funny! Not that I’m condoning bad behaviour of course. And the Spurs manager moaning about the pitch already and putting doubts in the FAs mind about how right it is for his players to play on it! Ah poor little things! I guess he had a fright at Newport and doesn’t want another one against a better team. Would imagine they’ll be pleased to get back to league action without dealing with PL or Championship egos. I’ll suspend my liking for Rochdale on Tuesday night. UTG!

Rochdale's game off today - waterlogged pitch. They're going to relay it before the Spurs game in 8 days time!

I don't think this is going to be as easy as some might think.
1) We've already lost to Rochdale this season. 2) They won their last game away at Northampton. A good win considering the only other side to beat Northampton in 2018 is Wigan. 3) They'll be well rested having not played this weekend. 4) Although they're 23rd, if they win their games in hand they'll be out the relegation zone. 5) Only 9 sides in L1 have lost less games than Rochdale. They draw a lot. We've lost 3 more than them. 6) Only 6 sides in L1 have conceded less than Rochdale. They're tight at the back. We've conceded 11 more than them. 7) The Spurs game could give them a lift and players will want to play well to keep their place. 8) They'll be battling to save their L1 status so will no doubt be well up for the game. 9) They're used to playing on a pitch that cuts up so will have tactics to suit the conditions.
I know you could put a different spin on it but these games rarely turn out to be straight forward and I don't expect this one to be any different.
