So says DC in the after match interview. I know this has been discussed before on here but didn't SH say at the start of the season it was a Top 6 budget or was that before Hani took over?

I'm afraid I don't believe DC as only a few months back it was a mid-table budget according to him and money was made available for 3 signings in the window. Will listen to the interview but I for one will be annoyed if he's whinging about his budget again after all he could have signed a couple more if he had not blown £359k on Nichols.

Before the transfer window it was common knowledge DC spent £130 k extra since taking over. Since the 'window ' he received around £400 k for Bodin and spent around £200 k on incoming transfers. In summary D.C have actually made money for our club whilst taking us from the vanarama to top 12 division one.
If you offered this 'dream' to the chairmans of Orient Tranmere Wrexham they would take your hands off!.
If the club want progress like play off's to the championship . Then it will need to find ways of increasing the budget dramatically. I don't know like everyone else our exact budget but I would guess it's in the bottom half. So D.C is doing an outstanding job...

He's stating a fact that a football team can't keep competing with the like of Pompey Charlton Blackburn Wigan ( top 6) on a bottom six budget. Personally : I rather know the truth and facts about our football club.

I would have thought money is better invested with DC than to lose him and have the possibility of paying off the next series of crap managers like we'very done before. I know he's made mistakes in the transfer market, who hasn't, but I would think he's made a profit in transfers since he's been here as well as huge success on the pitch.

All true but looking at the squad size, I'm not convinced it is a bottom 6 budget and I'm not sure DC would know either unless he has access to the management accounts of all the clubs in the division. Don't get me wrong I support DC but I do question the accuracy of his budget statement particularly when he has previously talked about having a mid-table budget.

Think our league position probably reflects our budget to be honest . Mid table. Only a guess don’t know nd I doubt DC does either.

Agreed but if the club had been able to better manage the contract situation with Taylor and Bodin then the club would have been at least a couple of million better off but I don't blame DC for that.

D.C in this period 2016-18 can only dream of the budget we had in 2007-09 . We aren't in a position were we can spent over a million on players like Lambert Williams Pipe Coles Hughes Duffy Kuffour Blizzard etc.

Bodin got a 2 year deal after finishing the league 2 promotion season strongly, nobody at that time would have suggested a 3 year deal. Menayese and broadbent have just signed new deals, what length should they have been?

We do have 25 senior professionals at the club including 3 loans although 3 of these are out on loan. Surely were in the middle cluster of about 14 teams in terms of wage bill?

The two years since promotion in 2016 will be less in transfers than the two years from 2007. Plus it was nearly 10 years ago. Someone work it out ?

I can say with confidence more was spent in the period between 2007 -9 than D.C got between 2016-18. So There !

Must echo others’ thoughts on here.
How we have gone from a mid table budget to bottom 6 all of a sudden? In addition to this, DC always moans about how we’re 1 game away from a meltdown/relegation meltdown - I can’t help but think that DC is only ever one game away from moaning about budget?
