I was amazed that a fit Tom Broadbent didn't play on Saturday. What do others think ?
Probably just as surprising is that he wasn't even on the bench ?? Could he have been effed off at not starting the game and told DC so and then was subsequently taken out of the squad ?
Reason I ask these questions ? Well, managers don't leave out their best players for league games ? Checkatrade yes but an important league game that could've propelled us closer to the play-offs ? TB knows himself he's been playing well.

Its his first league season so he must be thrilled to have made so many appearances. He had a shaky game v rochdale imo. He had his worst game of the season against lyle taylor in the home match v wimbledon. The manager picks his team on a match to match basis and always has done, all the players must know that.

So you don't think he's been one of our best players this season ? Do you think your best players should play in every game, if fit ?

Keith Brookman said on commentary that Broadbent isn't injured, just rested.

Manager known for making changes, makes changes I like DC overall, but think it was a massive clanger not picking TB on Saturday (weird don't you think he wasn't even on the bench as he was fit ?) and then just as bad ,watching the game, by subbing our 2 highest goalscorers with 20 to go.

It wasn't surprising for me to see us lose to a headed goal. Both Lockyer and Craig are hardly big dominant centre halves, that is an obvious weakness for any opposition team to target, they are good centre halves in their own right but not sure it will work as a partnership.
Defence was not a big issue for us Saturday but we did miss Broadbent. He has been a revelation recently. If he wasn't going to play though then why not start with Sweeney, who is a dominant centre half and would have complimented one of the other 2 better. Also I'm sure he would have been fired up against his home town team.

I guess if the ref had blown a minute earlier nobody would have questioned TB not starting on Saturday? Perhaps expecting him to play 3 games in a week was a tall order, although personally I'd have played RS. The big question now is what will DC do on Saturday now that TL, TB & TC are all fit? Perhaps play one in midfield to replace OC.

I Wownder what Stoke think about neither RS nor DT ever playing and DC suggesting he hopes to get DT on the cheap?

You seem to be on your own here markcz. 0-0....would you have created this post? Tom Broadbent has been a breath of fresh air - you pick your best players. We were terrible on Saturday against an even worse team, whether we drew it 0 - 0 or lost it. For me it was 3 points dropped instead of 2 dropped, so still bad. Would say there wouldn't have really been a positive even with grinding out a draw. Did you watch the game ?

Come on mark we weren’t terrible on Saturday, average perhaps but the defence played really well and those saying had it been 0-0 then we wouldn’t be having this conversation are correct. And yes you are right TB has been a breath of fresh air but the defence looked better today than it did on Tuesday. The midfield and attack werent very good I’ll accept but the defence was ok. I guess DC now has a good choice at CH and whatever choice he makes will result in others thinking it should be someone else in the team. Win and no one will worry too much, lose and he lays himself open. I’m sure he has a fairly thick skin. UTG!

Some say that Tom Broadbent would have headed the goal clear but to be fair he has not been known for heading crosses away in the six yard box. His marking in that area has been a bit suspect and overall the defence played very well Saturday and personally I would keep it unchanged Saturday. Tom is not the first by a long way and not the last to be left out by DC after playing well.

Tom is not the first by a long way and not the last to be left out by DC after playing well. Some say that the keeper should command his six yard box !! To be fair maybe you need to watch the games a bit closer, who has not been guilty of it this season. I'm sure if available the stats would show he's won more headers in the games he's played then any other team member so maybe you need to look at the bigger picture! and like most on her stop picking out individuals . And for the record who was on top of their game last Tuesday ?
