You are my Rovers, my only Rovers You make me happy when skies are Grey (and Blue & White) You'll never notice how much I love you So please take my Rovers Away!!!! Etc Try starting a song now and you get looked at as if you are some kind of alien species. I remember starting many a song at Eastville at a very young age and Twertin. Times and fans have moved on. Sadly, it’s not going to get any better as I see it. The last match I went to that really had what I thought was true old school atmosphere was against Edgar Davids Barnet. That was kin brilliant and showed us in a light that any club would envy

Crowd tends to liven up for the last 20mins if were chasing a game. The thing is everyone says everyone else isnt making a effort. So why doesnt each fan take it upon themselves to up the anti

So why doesnt each fan take it upon themselves to up the anti I would love it if we could get something as simple as Darrell Clarke’s blue and white army going from one stand to the other, like it used to with Gerry Francis. Seemed to go on for ages. I’ve tried starting off songs but they start off then fade quickly. You’re spot on about the last 20, when chasing a game

You’re spot on about the last 20, when chasing a game Great times for atmosphere, maybe Twerton just had that effect with its enclosed terrace. I remember going to West Brom in the early 90s where we lost 3-1 and being outplayed, yet we sang solidly for at least 20 minutes in the second half, mainly "Gas go marching on,on,on...", but others too. Paul Nixon equalised (or crossed for the equaliser, something like that). i do recall WBA having an annoying jingle everytime they scored, went along the lines of "oooooh and a goal for the Albion". Does anyone else recall that?

Quite often I read that other stands don't hear much from the Blackthorn end, even when it sounds loud to me stood in it. Maybe the club should invest in some sort of loud speaker system for the Blackthorn end so our noise can be projected around the ground for all to hear. And put some sound proofing on the away end so that when the away fans do eventually try to make some noise nobody else gets to here them. Would make for a more intimidating atmosphere for away teams.

Maybe the club should invest in loud speaker system for the whole ground, as the one we’ve got is fooking sh** and you can’t hear bugger all clearly! Pardon?

Just turned 23 and I've been going down the mem since the early - mid noughties, and to be honest I don't actually think they have changed that much if at all in 15 years.
Of course a few drop off like all agreeing that Pitman is a W-anchor, and the ones about the tote end, but theres a few oldies to the far right of the blackthorn that still keep that alive.
I think the biggest problem is the teenagers behind the goal who insist on speeding through every chant like it's a race, the atmosphere would be a lot better if the chants and songs were slowed down so it gave everyone a chance to get involved with it.
And another issue is someone trying to start a chant and getting mocked by the teens for trying to get a bit of atmosphere going.

Even better on a night game, 5 mins to go, we go 1 up, whatever, and the phone torches come out. That's awesome.

Yeh, I have to admit that the night time torches is pretty impressive when all the stands join in.
