I don't understand why some teams put youngsters on to their first teams at 18 or 19, but we only put ours in when there is nothing to play for

What happened to Rhys Kavanagh? I heard we spent a fair bit on him from Newport. If he is 19 and is regarded as a natural goalscorer why is he not on the fringe of the first team?

Didn't score in 10 appearances on loan last season for a combination of Bath City and Gloucester City in the National League North/South.

The development squad has been going properly for a year, it's clearly a long term project. How about letting it roll then see how it goes before moaning? I for one, am glad that we have a development squad. That's one thing I thought we all could agree on, clearly not!!

I attended the game at Totton on my return from Eindhoven.
Not the best performance I have seen from the Development squad but we won and it was a good run out.
Two disappointments:-
1 - not a single BRFC representative turned up for the game, apart from the coaches. Yes it was a Development game and the first team were playing at home, but it was also a testimonial for one of their players. Totton were not impressed. Strange how all the Directors managed to find the time for a jolly in Eindhoven at great expense to the club.
2 - I had the misfortune to sit in front of one of our players father who continually slagged off Hargreaves and his son at every opportunity.
The ground was decent and the Board room was great. I was invited into it for tea.
I think the lads will do well again this season but few of them are at a standard to trouble the first team squad at the moment, on this performance.

I had the pleasure of meeting Wayne Shaw, the famous goalkeeper for Sutton who was photographed eating a pie whilst playing a game. Wayne ShawHe is now the chef at Totton and yes the pies were very nice

Does Wael charge the club all his travel expenses etc?

No. Fair play to the father for driving down to Totton to support his son, but why would I want to embarrass the player by naming him. At least the father travelled all the way down to Totton to support his son but why would I embarrass his son by naming him.

First of all he was a disappointment but is now to be applauded! If he is embarrassed himself surely you couldn’t embarrass his son any further?

I applaud the father for driving 80+ miles each way to support his son but to slag off Hargreaves and his son during the game reflects badly on the father, just because he has a problem that young Hargreaves was given an extended contract.
