Lots get given the tag "legend" but in Browner's case, it's fully deserved.
The man stood by us when he was good enough to go, scored an ice cold penalty at Wembley, scored THAT goal that gave many of us the most dramatic moment watching the Gas, and proved that he is a quality attacking full back good enough to play top half of League One.
He'll take some replacing.

Good luck Lee - thanks for everything and best wishes for the future. You created your own bit of Rovers history which will always be remembered and talked about.

Good luck with the rest of your career Browner!
Lets see if Buckle can recommend any more full backs as he didn't do too badly with Brown and Smudge.
Weird timing though...

Gutted about this, Lee Brown could easily do a job again next season.
What a brilliant player he has been for us, the years of dedication, sticking with us in non league and that all important goal against the Daggers.
Lee will be missed. Will do well to fill his boots.

I will be amazed if we manage to sign a better attacking left back than Lee Brown.
Without doubt one of the best full backs we've had - right or left - in 20+ years.
I wish him all the best for the future. Any team in L1 or L2 would be lucky to have him.
Agree with singupgas above, we will do well to fill his boots.

It will be a sad day to see this Gas Legend move on to pastures new, i now understand why he has been below his very high standards this season
Browner we will miss you and i wish you and your family all the very best for the future
I think a good shout for a future left back will be The Beard with Kelly as a good backup

Very often underrated and has been really good for us over the years. Hope he finds a decent club. Big opportunity knocking for a certain Michael Kelly. Hope he gets to start at Southend.

Very, very sad to see Lee Brown depart. He will be a huge loss and very difficult to replace at the same level. His crossing, strangely criticized by some, has been consistently excellent, as well as his defending ability and his wonderful free-kicks. Thank you Lee for your years of service and I wish you well for the future.

It’s a shame that his shot that hit the post last night didn't go in, i hope he scores on Saturday though what a fitting send off that would be! Lets all get down the Mem on Sat and give the man a proper Gas send off. Thanks for the memories Lee and especially your loyalty in the dark times, the memory of THAT promotion goal will live with me forever! Cheers Lee, goodluck with your future career. UTG!

Each time I have seen the Beard play full back (usually due to someone's injury) he has been targeted by the opponents and ripped apart. We will need to set much higher standards than that to replace Browner!

Great servant of the club, perhaps not good enough if we’re looking to push on in my opinion. Great memories 💪

Good luck Browner - I'm sure he'll get one of the best send off's we've given in quite a while - and thoroughly deserved too.
I remember seeing his first game against Mangotsfield in a friendly & I liked the look of him then - blimey 7 years later and 259 caps and he's experienced it all with us.
He showed real loyalty to stay with us in our dark period and brought us back, for that - he deserves legendary status. And of course, who can forget THAT moment vs Daggers?
When was the last time we had a player for 7 years?

Beards ok covering an unity but he’s not good enough to play there every week

When was the last time we had a player for 7 years? Both Ollie Clarke and Ellis Harrison actually made the debuts before Brown, both at the end of the 2010-11 season so have also been here 7 years. Before then it looks like Stuart Campbell was the last player to spend 7 years as a first-teamer.
