He also signed Rob Trees. He signed some right duffers in that 00/01 season. Mark Foran, Roger Vaaler, Scott Jones, Clinton Ellis, Rob Trees, Steve Rose and Justin Richards. However, he did also signed some unbelievable players and some of the best during my time following Rovers. Good luck to him, I wish him well. Trees signed in '98.

He also signed Rob Trees. Thank goodness we managed to root him out. Touch wood, we will never have a player of his like wear the quarters again. Leave it.

Another championship club appointing yet another manager who gets chance after chance and keeps failing. What are QPR expecting by appointing McLaren?

Definitely produced the most exciting Rovers team to watch that I've seen.
Ollie was a great manager for us who was let down IMO by the board at the time. Also a top, top bloke who would go out of his way to help anyone.
However, it rarely works when a manager goes back and we do seem to do better with young upcoming managers (as he was of course back in 1996). So reluctantly, it would be a no from me.
That said, the man is Gas through and through and should ALWAYS be considered a Rovers legend for what he did for us as a player and manager.
I wish him all the best wherever he goes.

We have one of the best young managers in the country.
That’s not to say that Ollie wouldn’t make a great backroom coach.

Still amazes me when I hear Lee Johnson's name touted for jobs such as WBA or Swansea. On the basis of what? One admittedly fantastic cup run and...um...? Whereas DC has four promotions to his name! Bizarre!

Alright then, the best young manager outside of the Premier League.

Ollie is a legend multiple times.
He is up there with the greatest Gas figures of all time: Bert Tann, Geoff Bradford, Geoff Dunford, DC, Marcus Stewart, Lee Brown and Ollie.
I believe he'll be back at the Gas someday, especially now we've a different board. All depends on the timings, I hope DC will be here for years, but, if, when, and Ollie is available, then I'd have him back - legend.

Bizarre! Nobody in the midlands is talking about LJ get the WBA job as Darren Moore seems the clear favorite, regardless DC remains a manager of a mid table Div 1 side, LJ a proven young manager of a Championship side. I can't see any top 6 Championship side risking appointing DC over LJ, although Paul Hurst must be the prime choice for any Championship club at the moment. I wonder if Bradford, or Charlton if Bowyer doesn't get the job, will be tempted to offer Ollie the job? Although Parkinson could be heading back to the former if Bolton give him the chop.
