What's wrong with saying L1 is his level? I said he is a decent player and too good for L2.
Nothing wrong , you can say what you like , I think when you say that league 1 is his level that you are wrong as he's clearly good enough to play at a higher leve as he's played in the championship previously for a couple of seasons.
He hasn't played in the Championship for 3 years.
Should be reaching his peak now so who knows.

Already an assist to his name before he’d even pulled on the shirt!

If he is no better than what we have, why did DC go for him ?
Obviously he see's something more than I do.
I'd have tried to get Ryan Yates from Forest but that would have to be on loan.
Yates is being linked with a loan move to Luton, which would be a quality signing for them. I can see Luton having a good season, maybe top half and even pushing for a playoff place. Nathan Jones is a good young manager.

Ollie Clarke may be looking for a new club - he may well be out of contract and not yet offered an extension. He has another year to go I may very well be in the minority, but i’d offer Ollie a contract extension regardless of this, fitness issues permitting. A fully fit Ollie Clarke is still a major asset to the club.

He will obviously be playing there again with us in 2019. 😉

But overall I'd rather have him in my squad than not.

Totally agree , with this a good young player who’s come through our ranks was voted player of the season this time last year and I think too many have written him off after one bad injury prone season.

Bloody hope we keep Sercs. With him, Lines, Upson, Clarke, Sincs and Russe we look very strong in the midfield.

Would you consider him any better than the 4 current midfield players ?
After last season id say better than Ollie Clarke, same level as Sincs, but not as good as Lines or Sercombe.
Interesting. I take it you have seen him play a sufficient number of times to make this assertion?

I know i’ve put on a few pounds but there’s no need to be rude! I mean specifically in the centre. We need at least one more out wide, for sure, depending on the formation we choose to play. He has the option to play Bennett or Sercombe as a number 10, of course, in which case we would need more pace from our full backs.

I used to run a club called Sicklesmere United in the Bury St Edmunds area. I started with a team for my eldest son in 1989/90 and the club grew year by year to 20 teams (before eventually imploding). One of the last teams to be formed at Under 8 included a talented young player called Ed Upson. I cannot remember much about the lad except his manager's plaudits for him. Out of some 400+ players that passed through the club, Ed was the only one that made it as a professional footballer. Less than than 10 made it into non-league (steps 5 & 6) and only one other got as high as step 3.
Strange that I should have in a small way assisted a future Bristol Rovers player in the heart of East Anglia.

Look forward to Ed having a top career with the Rovers.

I used to run a team just outside Cardiff. One day we had this kid called Gareth something or other turn up. He could do stuff like overhead kicks into the top corner and shooting from 30 yards. I told him to water off. Told him he'd never get anywhere playing like such a flash git.

He needs to have a word with Sinclair on how to grow a proper beard then we can have two beards in midfield Or sign Marc Crosas and then get Davide Moscardelli upfront.
