To be fair they’ve done everything they said they’d do. It’s all moving along nicely all be it slowly but the impression I got from Wael from day 1 was that it was going to be that way. If we had done a Man City it wouldn’t feel like Rovers anymore and in league 1 it can be disastrous throwing money about bringing in loads of big name players / managers. I like the way they’ve gone about their business, they’ve improved everything but not flashy just small improvements here and there and we’ve still got our identity and our great manager. I’m happy with that considering it’s only been 2 years and they spent the first year sorting out the shambles from before. Going back to DCs targets they’ve always said they’d support him in the transfer market and he gives me the impression he’s happy with what he’s been given. He’s still here , that speaks volumes. Words are just words I tend to go on what I see. After watching Rovers go in decline over the DECADES I cannot believe than anyone would turn down an instant fix with regard to the training ground, the Stadium and the team. Even non league teams have better facilities than we do. You might want to wait another 10 or 20 years but I want them to start building now. Get on with it Wael There no such thing as an instant quick fix. Planning and construction takes time. They’ve been here 2 years and spent the first year sorting out the mess left before. In terms of time scale I think they’ve done a lot in a short space of time but I still wouldn’t call it an instant fix because like I said there’s no such thing.

If harris rates him so highly why did he release him? Maybe considering they finished 8th in the Championship, Harris thinks he can attract better? I’m with Pirate, I think he’d be a good signing for us. Well lets see where he turns up next season and how he gets on. Ive no recall of seeing him play, just pointing out his career record is nothing to shout about.

2 left backs - TBC
1 midfielder - DONE - Ed Upson
2 wide players - TBC 1 wide player 2 strikers - TBC
1 right back - Danny Leadbitter
I would like us to sign a new keeper too tbh. We have 2 average keepers.

I could be wrong, but I'm going to make a prediction and say we're going to sign someone today. Just got a feeling.
Edit at 9pm: Maybe not then!

Don't hold your breath, I've been waiting 2 years for that. To be fair they’ve done everything they said they’d do. Words are just words I tend to go on what I see. Been out of internet contact for two weeks so just picked up on Rovers stuff. Above is the best post on this thread. Owners are doing exactly what they said they would, small steps but slowly building a club with a much stronger infrastructure. Of course the ground issue is still there but when it does happen it will be for the benefit of BRFC not for the benefit of the UWE and it’s coffers. Yes it’s frustrating about the ground but DC is slowly improving his team and the owners have put their money into improving us. Yes I would like a bit more communication but I prefer owners who do stuff rather than owners who talk about doing stuff but don’t do it. DC is being allowed to build something and he’s going about it in the same way the owners are, quietly. And he’s still here with 3 years left on his contract. I know why people are frustrated but Wael has done exactly what he said he would do. He said he wouldn’t throw money at the club, he wanted to develop our own youth, he said he would try and support DC and build the club slowly but sustainably. Blimey when you hear all the crap spoken in football today Wael has been really honest and has kept to what he said he would do. Very rare in football. I don’t expect many to agree by the way! UTG!

I would look no further than Harry Toffollo and Reece James to replace Brown. We would face a lot of competition but we need to put a few good offers on table in the hope of getting one of them. Perhaps DC could use his connections with Cook to put in a good word with James for us.

The only link I've seen so far is Toffolo to Lincoln, but surely we could offer a better contract and more importantly, a higher level of football. The other player I like that would be realistic is Luke Leahy at Walsall, although signing him would require a fee. Other decent options could include Axel Borgmann (free), Lennard Sowah (free) or Max Dombrowka (Unterhaching).

I’m not so sure that we will see any wingers signed. I have a feeling that Mensah will be given a lot ofplay time this pre-season and DC will use the time to really work on him with a view to getting him playing more regularly. There’s a good player there and not to give him the chance would be strange. Then with him and Bennett we have wide players. I think strikers are more of a priority and that’s where I would expect to see signings and probably a replacement for Lee B. Having said that DC will probably go out and sign a winger this week just to show that I know sod all! 🙂 UTG!

If Bennett picked up an injury we would be left with players totally inexperienced at this level.

I think DC wil count Matthews as one of his two wingers/wide men. We have Bennett, Mensah and Matthews who can all play out wide. Baghdadi possibly too. Sercombe and maybe even Nicholls can potentially play as wide players too.

Good signing for them, although a slightly strange one considering they already have Habergham. The Cowley brothers are building a good squad there and I expect them to challenge for promotion again.

Strange move that one as he spent the first half of last season at Doncaster, the second half at Millwall, then drops down to Lincoln in Div 2, how are hardly going to be that bigger payers.

Why bother signing wingers when the manager prefers his full backs to do that job? Bennett hasnt played for rovers as a winger as i remember it? What would he tell the winger he was trying to sign when asked what system the team play?

It is certainly a coup for them as he has performed well at this level. Lincoln are building a good squad there and perhaps he fancies a crack at promotion with them?
