Due to EasyJet scamming the Bristol Rovers support, The Bristol Rovers Scottish Supporters Club are proposing running one or 2 buses from Edinburgh to Sunderland (depending on numbers)
It would be cheaper to travel to Edinburgh and take a bus to Sunderland than a return flight.
If there is significant interest then we will put the wheels in motion

Everyone is scrambling for flights, hotels etc. but interested to know how many away tickets we’ll get. Huge stadium but will have big gates if doing well (although not convinced they will). If 4,000 book up now but only 3,000 tickets ...?

We are only proposing to organise the relevant number of buses for the trip as an alternative from Edinburgh to Sunderland and back. Anything else would be up to the individual. Please note this thread is putting the feelers out for numbers

Their highest was 31,237 last season vs Leeds, and that was including away fans!

Yes but beautiful countryside though and maybe a little glimpse at Hadrian’s wall or perhaps just Bolders hole knowing our luck! Drive up for me really early Saturday morning and stay in Sunderland for the night, right on it! UTG.

Please note this thread is putting the feelers out for numbers Easyjet will do the same for the Edinburgh flights as soon as numbers start rising - will only need 20 or so booking seats for the prices to start rising dramatically again. I hope the team weren't planning to fly up by easyjet. A (good) car with 4 passengers with 2 drivers leaving Bristol at 6 am will get to Sunderland around 1 o'clock - and home around midnight. Cost each around £35. Wouldnt be be surprised if Sunderland shut the top tier or sections of the stadium off whilst they are in this division.

Already annouced It says on the article though that away fans will remain in the upper tier. The chances are we will only get allocated 3000, but I know a lot of busses are going to be running for the game so they might open up more to us if demand allows it.

I see Sunderland's season ticket sales have surpassed 21,000.

In Spain at the moment but when I get back I will contact a friend who has a private pilots licence and see if he can fly us up. Did it to Blackpool a few years ago and was back in the pub in Bristol by 7.30pm.

Maybe over two days if you're very lucky with the weather.
