Ellis, if by any small chance you get to read this - Thank you. The best accolade I can give you is: I have enjoyed watching you play. All your goals, hard work, determined defence work, chasing lost causes and being a great lad will stand you in good stead for wherever you end up. Thank you and good luck.

Will be sorely missed this coming season even if we get a suitable replacement. Not just for his work on the pitch but for what he brings to the dressing room, I've never had the pleasure of meeting him but you can tell from his interviews that he is one hell of a character, always engaging in banter with the other lads and coaches.
Good luck Ellis, I wish you all the success in the world, you really deserve it! Also thanks for everything you've done for the gas, you've spent a large period of your career with us and that shows commitment on your part as well as from the club.
Finally i would also like to say well done for proving your doubters wrong last season, you were player of the year in my eyes, you gave 100% and left nothing out on the field come the final whistle. I'll never forget the way you were able to strike terror into the opposition defence by sprinting at them from half way across the field only to leap in front of them and win the ball with your head. I think there are lot of defenders in L1 this season who will breathe a sigh of relief that they won't be coming up against you again!
UTG!

He has been a fantastic ambassador for the club. From everything we hear he is also a massive influence in the dressing room and will be sadly missed.
His development on the pitch has been a joy to watch and a true reflection of the work put in by the coaching squad. I can't believe that he has been easy to coach and his development has, without doubt, been in fits and starts. However, to the credit of everybody involved, he did develop into an integral member of our squad. He became much more confident in his own strength and physical presence, he learned to use his pace better, his hold up play improved significantly and he developed a much keener eye for a goal scoring opportunity. He isn't the finished article yet but he is progressing towards that. I am just sorry that we won't see that at first hand.
Good Luck Ellis, you will be missed - I cannot begrudge the move to better your career but you leave us with a big hole to fill.

A lot of these comments about how ‘frustrating’ Ellis was show that as supporters we have to cut young players some more slack, particularly when there is obviously something there to work with. Consistency comes with maturity and an understanding of the game. Ellis benefitted from a management set up who believed in him and had the confidence to know that progress would come. Same with Locks. These two turned into our most prize assets and the amount of times I heard comments like ‘needs dropping’, ‘shouldn’t be anywhere near the team’ etc. I’m so pleased we’ve had a manager prepared to let youth develop. Hopefully Ollie Clarke will be the next to come good on his obvious potential and stuff it to his armchair critics!

To be fair Ollie did that season before last when he won POTS, just need him to refind that form!

He will be a big loss, not only on the pitch, but around the club in general. A big character.
Pace, power, good in the air and on the ground, improving finisher, Ellis has all the attributes to go as far as he wants in the game if he keeps learning and improving like he has year on year.
What ever happens I wish him all the very best. Good luck Ellis!

Gutted to see Ellis go but couldn't be more pleased for him.
Looked like the end of the road for him at Rovers when he was bombed out on loan to Hartlepool, but he's knuckled down since then and turned himself into one of the brightest attacking prospects in L1 - so fully deserving of this move in my book.
Has to go down as a Rovers legend for his part in the Conference promotion IMO.

Gutted.
But good luck to you. I always championed you from as back as Eastleigh away, when you chased down the keeper so Ollie could equalise.
Go on and make something of yourself, don't forget to try extra hard two times a season, and come back and see us some time.
You'll be more than welcome. UptheGas!

Thank you Ellis - it has been wonderful having you at BRFC and I wish you well for the future. Apart from missing his strength in attack, I do worry about defence also - Ellis was frequently the one who won headers when we were defending set piece situations. Difficult to replace in the short term, but hope DC has someone in the pipeline!

Best of luck young man
The plaudits here are testament to the journey you are on and that we've all watched unfold
You deserve your break and always welcome at the mem - this is the sort of thread the snake could have enjoyed had he chosen his path more carefully
Go bag 4 at the gate please son

Good luck Ellis I can remember you in the season we were relegated you were head and shoulder above the forwards we had then and I am sure if you had been played more then we would have stayed up. You have always had that ability to change a game and make things happen which is the mark of a great player and we will miss that. They say you don't know what you've got till it's gone and maybe those who didn't appreciate you will maybe see that. I will follow your progress because you are one of our own.
