Match report says Ellis had a very impressive debut for Ipswich last night - one fan saying we've 'robbed' Bristol Rovers - assuming he went for just £750k.of course.

Ellis Harrison went straight into the starting line-up a day after completing his £750k switch from League One team Bristol Rovers.
Playing as the focal point of the attack, the 24-year-old caught the eye – and not just because his ankle high socks and high top afro hair style.
There was non-stop work ethic. Much like former Blues favourite Shefki Kuqi, you sense he will chase a crisp packet across the pitch.
Back to goal he was strong, while he also displayed the pace to get in behind when the opportunity presented itself.
The best thing of all though was his threat in the air. Twice he bulleted headers inches wide from positions/crosses he seemingly had no right to do so from. The neck power is sensational.

With good players around him - IMO he's going to develop into one hell of a player. Does make you wonder what is going on when Mo Eisa with one good season behind him in League 2 goes for reportedly £1.5m.

Portsmouth are not prepared to let Connor Chaplin go until they find a replacement - I think they're still looking. Its going to be tough to find one let alone two good strikers - we have Nichols - Mensah and Reilly - I would suggest DC is feeling pretty twitchy at the moment.

I think the Conor Chaplin scenario is a bit different, in that he is not itching to go and it will be more because he can't get in the team than being too good for L1.

I love that Ellis is rightly now making a virtue of and getting plaudits for his work ethic. Such an example of how far hard work can take you. He was always talented but was criticised for ‘being lazy’. I’d argue that he is able to work harder now because he’s got physically stronger and also understands his game and what is expected of him. That has all come with maturity. We need him to kick on even more now so we can pick up those add-ons!

All of that money (and more if needs be) has to be reinvested in the squad to bring in two quality strikers. Not one striker, but two.

Had the pleasure of meeting Ellis a few times at various functions. He was a credit to the club and an absolute gent. He deserves his chance at a higher level and I hope he tears up trees so to speak. Good luck Ellis.

Bodin and Ellis both score against the same premier league opposition in a week.
