I agree, Mildy got the ball first. I saw it three times and I'm sure of it. However, still not sure they'll overturn the card as they might feel it's a wreckless challenge nonetheless. Parkes sold him down the river, there wasn't much else Mildy could have done. Puddy looked like he could have done better for the goal and also had a couple of dodgy moments in the second half. He does look on the small side for a keeper, too. Ellis looked very lively. Ollie - what a strike! Well done lads on a great battling performance. Thanks Eastleigh for putting this up on YouTube. Yet another club to put ours to shame on the PR front. Come on Rovers, give a little bit back to the fans, it really doesn't take much effort. There's so much good will coming from the fans of this club, as ever, it would be nice to see this reciprocated by the board. Puddy was voted players player of the season last season at Salisbury so he must be a decent keeper at this level. To be fair Mildy has set the bar pretty high though. The bar's even higher for Puddy - he's shorter.

You can't really see it on the highlights, but did anyone notice Browner taking the p*ss out of the Eastleigh scorers celebration?

Puddy isn't that short, we're just used to seeing mildenhall in goal. And the likes of Mikkel Andersen, Steve Phillips, Fraser Forster and even like daniels before him - all very tall men.
When he put his hands up they reached the bar almost - you've gotta be 6ft + for that to happen. Also Eastleigh were fecking huge all through their team so at corners surrounded by them + our defenders, he was always going to look shorter!
I do think he should've saved their goal though looking back at the replay

Puddy looks out of his depth to me - gotta stop Dover from getting corners and free kicks near our box or I fear an upset on Saturday

Puddy looks out of his depth to me - gotta stop Dover from getting corners and free kicks near our box or I fear an upset on Saturday From those highlights I would agree. Seemed to be a few balls across the box that just went, well across the box. Seems a strange situation. Puddy came to Rovers non contract. If I remember correctly it was because he was looking for a club. Obviously Mildy was first choice. So i suppose signing non contract means he can buggar off if he finds a club. He'd had offers from below Conference but wasn't interested. In the game at Barnet I believe at least one of the goals was his fault. In the friendly last week the same. Looks like he's here for now. Hopefully the defenders will have a few days getting used to the fact he's there on Saturday, and that the blokes confidence isn't shot. * I've had a hard day decorating and I've been drinking. so if I don't make sense.

He has looked a bit dodgey so far but I'm not sure he's out of his depth. If he won player of the season last year in the conference then surly he's capable of playing at that level ? I'm a keeper and I know that if you make one dodgey error anyone watching who doesn't know you will say this keepers out of his depth. Likewise I've heard people say this keepers class after one great save. One good or bad game can happen to a keeper regardless of his quality. I think we should get behind him and really spur him on on Saturday. He's going to play so we might as well. He obviously knows we love Mildy so there is added pressure on him but I think chanting his name and showing our support of him before the game in the same way we do to Mildenhall would help.

I think Puddy is low on confidence (and probably rusty) certainly, but I don't think he's out of his depth.

There's no way Puddy's over 6 foot, he's clearly more than 3 inches shorter than Mildenhall, if he has to play more than the odd game I would have concerns, he probably stands alongside Walker(?) as being one of our poorer goalies in recent times.

Good to see Puddy being given a chance by the fans! Do we ever learn! Give the bloke a cheer on Saturday - it might help him settle in!

Biggest game of his career on Saturday? en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Will_PuddyBar one game for Cheltenham he's always been non-league so it doesn't surprise me if there's a few nerves. He may see this as his big break so perhaps we should give him more than 150 minutes before writing him off?

I kind of get what your saying but we're non league so it's not really a step up or his big break is it ?
