Where's he supposed to go? No offers on the table at the moment. I think if someone in the championship come in for him now then he'd jump at the chance. He's trapped. Why would a Championship side come in for a mid table Div 1 manager, it like us employing Darren Way if DC ever does leave! Although if we're really going nowhere as a club i guess it doesn't really matter if he leaves or not!! City employed Lee Johnson, Ipswich employed Paul Hurst, etc, etc DC has achieved 4 promotions in 6 years regardless of what level it was at, all before the age of 40. That's why clubs would be interested.

We will have 2 strikers in by the end of the deadline. Our budget is in the lower half of the table, our owners prefer not to put additional money in so DC works within the limits of our turnover. Has to pull rabbits out of hats to get us in the top 6. Speaks to Wael a lot but club needs to be aware that it needs to move forward same as he said two years ago (or something like that, basically a diplomatic way of saying that infrastructure needs sorting). Thats about it. I could have sworn he said end of decade .... possibly just DC accent

Back in February 2018: "To some people one month is way too long to get this project up and running," said Al-Qadi. "But we've appointed the project manager, who in turn have appointed their own team of designers and architects. "It's full steam ahead!!" And even further back during September 2016... Training ground site "is very advanced" and Chairman and Manager have walked the site of club's proposed new training ground north of the city. "We'll move in March" to new training ground says chairman Steve Hamer. Trouble is, that was March 2017!!! As if to prove that old Abe Lincoln quote; ‘You can fool all the people some of the time, and some of the people all the time, but you cannot fool all the people all the time’

Just had a listen, I agree DC was coy about the owners and did come across frustrated about the training ground but otherwise I felt he was his normal self.
The quip about Mike Bassett was funny as was the David James reference. Talked about promotion as the aim.
Hope we get those two strikers in as it will help the mood.

I havnt read through the thread but i found the dc bits very depressing. Dc has no idea what if any plans the owners have to take the club forward on or off the pitch. He squirmed when asked about the training facility as he clearly has no idea about that situation. About a year ago he said "he didnt want to become a sitting duck". But thats exactly what he is right now imo.

So, has anyone ever stopped to consider that DC is highly unlikely to publicly condemn the owners on a local radio show, or that the allegedly doomy/gloomy stuff he comes out with is just smoke and mirrors, not least because he's sitting there with managers from 2 of our geographical rivals? Give me strength . . . He was publicly critical of the owners in a not so subtle way,its not smoke and mirrors its pure frustration and he feels let down without a shadow of a doubt.

I didn't hear the forum tonight so I can't comment on how upbeat or otherwise DC sounded but he's not exactly what you'd call a minstrel of mirth most of the time. A genuine question, if we do get the two strikers in and they are decent quality, what would people think of our squad? If we can replace Ellis and Rory with players of the same quality then top 6 is absolutely reachable because we’ve strengthened our midfield massively I feel. Upsson Rodman and Mathews all look very good signings and hopefully the new left back can perform as well as he has in the past and stay fit. The one thing that I’m worried about is the fact that finding two forwards as good as Ellis and Rory is going to be difficult and we might well end up with a couple who are rubbish and in a relegation fight. Reilly looked ok Saturday but Nichols once again was utter sh**e. The days between now and the window closing will shape our season. Our goals against record wasn’t that bad last time we were relegated but we struggled to score goals and that’s what relegates teams. We’ve seen it before haven’t we. I agree. If you look back at our recent relegation's you could say it was lack of goals that sent us down. Early on last season we were shipping a lot of goals but we were also scoring plenty. Our defense wont be perfect this coming season. I like to think that having a proper defensive midfielder will help a little bit, as well as having a defensive coach again. I am sure people will start moaning the second we concede from a cross about the lack of height! We also always start seasons slowly under DC, with new players coming in late, I cannot see us improving on this. I would like to think there will be more goals from midfield and also they will hopefully be able to create more chances for whoever we have up front. Whoever we sign this week will go a long way to deciding which half of the table we finish in this season.

Fair enough Topper maybe I missed some of it but I didn’t hear DC say he doesn’t get on with the owners or hear him say he had no money to spend. Not no money but no extra money from the owners, it'll be interesting to see what gets to spend this week as I doubt it'll go down to well if he does get a fair chunk of the Harrison money to spend on strikers. Basically saying the owners need to pull their fingers out re the training ground doesn't give the impression he's getting on great with them. I don't think he'll get any of the £800k ish they received for Ellis and Gaffney for transfer fees - it'll be back to loan signings again. DC will toe the 'party line' - unaffordable, unreasonable demands etc etc. Really can't see him him sticking around beyond this season. Hope I'm wrong on both counts - the unfortunate thing for him is, that if the team have another mediocre season his stock vslue will go down and offers from a Championship club may not be forthcoming. He deserves better - a pivotal few months ahead on many counts I feel.

DC sounds very, very frustrated. Not been a particularly positive listen tonight where Rovers are concerned. Only positive thing is DC saying he only wakes up to be playing for Promotion.. Shame DC not give the funds to deliver that.I'm sure that twat in charge of Manchester United feels the same
