GGMI makes a lot of valid points and we seem to be at a cross roads in our 'evolution. being a fan of 60 odd years i am proud and well used to being the underdog battling against the odds to survive and have looked forward to the end of the rainbow which we never seem to quite reach. When the present custodians of the club took over i was a little concerned that we were going to loose our identity and would be in danger of going the same way as a few other clubs who had the good or mis/fortune to suddenly acquire riches they were not used to.I was therefore pleased to see that the new owners were not going to shower us with untold riches and they intended to slowly evolve the club using the best traditions of its past while dragging the club into the 21 century. the new stadium and training facilities would bey key to all of this and it has been a bitter pill to note the lack of progress in both these areas which is bound to have affected our recruitment and earning potential.in the meantime we have appointed numerous additions to the payroll and i have no doubt they are all competent in there field, but they do not seem to understand Bristol Rovers FC, its history, culture or its supporters. There are ways and means to make changes and the way some of our stalwarts appear to have been treated does the club no credit, did i read somewhere that a club that does not respect its past has no future, i suggest Wael hangs such a statement up in the boardroom! Most of the new corporate staff will be here today, gone tomorrow , i just hope they dont do too much damage before they move on, yes some things needed to change but the increases and changes highlighted by GGMI are a sure sign that we are moving to a more corporate operation which is fine at corporate level but dont inflict corporate logic onto the Gas faithful, you can not afford to upset to many GAS heads , We are not Arsenal or Chelsea and dont want to be ,do we?I believe in Wael , he is a fan but he needs to evolve this club the right way and keep control of those he is appointing, cos he will have to pick up the pieces when they have moved on.I sense frustration creeping in with DC , I believe he is our greatest asset but how long before he's had enough and goes? The board and fans must back him and my message to the corporate brigade, wait till we have the stadium which allows us to cater for your needs then we can all move forward together us peasants an all! Up the Rovers!

Putting up prices while we still play in a shithole is a disgrace.
I'd pay £2 for a cup of tea in a decent venue but not in a crappy, freezing cold prefab tent.
Wont be long before we are priced out.

£6 for a sausage roll [although very good quality] and a cup of instant coffee is I am afraid a total rip off. On top of the ground prices rising, the cost of hospitality has also risen considerably in spite of the fact we are only a mid table first division team. It would seem our owners have realised they need to rip off the fanbase in order to have an office in London, a new CEO and appoint an outside company to produce the programme. No doubt I have forgotton as many things as I have named.

The sad thing is as long as the new breed of fan can afford it no tears will be shed for those left behind. Just look at City.

Can just about accept 4 quid a pint as the local prices arent much different, but those tea, coffee, past prices are a bit of a joke. That money can stay in my pocket I am sure we will here from Ken and the SC on this and how they are disappointed and will bring it up with the board. No laughing at the back there Yeah £4 isn't that bad, Royal Oak and The Anchor are similar prices.

As far as I am aware the City have not lost there core supporters and they have not been replaced by the prawn sandwich brigade. In fact I believe their ST prices are quite reasonable for a side in the Championship

Stop press...... it is not mandatory to buy a sausage roll at the stadium, nor a beer, get a litre of lager and litre of cider at the offie, wander up to Horfield common and have a toe to toe with the pikeys currently parked up and try pinching one of their sausage rolls, cheap booze and an adrenaline rush at the same time. That Gorringe is starting to get up my nose now as well, certainly rubbing up people the wrong way.

It appears there's a mini-boycott going on in the replies to the tweet in OP. By mini, you mean 1 person! I don't know what the fuss is all about, if we want to grow the club we need money, should the food be free?

People accept that and pay it. You can't expect to get away with it if you offer nothing in return.

Those are some crazy price rises. The stupid thing is it's unlikely to generate much/any additional profits because many won't bother buying a drink, or perhaps just get the one when before they might've bought a few.
To me it comes across like the club is taking the fans' loyalty for granted - not just this but with many other things too. If results stoop to the same level as off-field goings on, it could get very messy quickly. People don't like being taken for mugs.

Don't bother watching the friendlies so have not checked out prices but £4.00 a pint is OK if you get a good pint and reasonable prompt service, no way on this earth would I pay £4.00 for a sausage roll or £2.00 to stand up to drink a cup of tea (hot water and a tea bag with a splash of milk).
I guess if people don't buy them then the club will be eventually forced to do offers to attract people back. If people keep buying at these prices then TGs pricing policy will have worked from the owners' perspective.
But all this is a side show what matters is whether the owners will fund the two number 9 that DC says he needs and whether we see any development on the training ground that's the vital if the progress on the development squad is to continue.
I promise TG I'll buy your £4 sausage rolls if you persuade the owners to buy a half-decent number 9 next week.

If you're only going to serve up poundland items in the place of the waiterose ones people have previously enjoyed then you've got a double whammy!

Agreed about the prices of food/drink being a side show,if the Al Qadi's come up with the goods in the transfer window. I just have little faith they will. They best do or a lot of fans will be watered off.

Premium prices for a poor quality experience shows that, as a poster above observed, the management of the club are now taking fans loyalty for granted.
